Celebration of 98th Foundation Day of ICAR on 16th July, 2026 at the campus of KVK,Jaintia Hills. The day was celebrated with an awareness programme for the farmers about ICAR and KVK activities followed by tree plantations by the staff of KVK.

Khet Bachao Abhiyan was successfully conducted at Myntlu village and Iongkaluh village of East Jaintia Hills district in collaboration with District Agricultural Office, District Horticulture Office of East Jaintia Hills and ATMA,EJH. Awareness and demonstration was conducted on the application of biofertilizers and biopesticides.

Khet Bachao Abhiyan was successfully conducted at ShnongThymme village and
Moolasngi village in East Jaintia Hills(EJH) district of Meghalaya in collaboration with District Agriculture Office,EJH and ATMA,EJH. Awareness and Training was given on balance use of fertilizers, demonstration on application of biofertilizers was demonstrated.

Khet Bachao Abhiyan was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra,Jaintia Hills in collaboration with ATMA,EJH at Tuber Kmai Shnong and Tuber Sohshrieh villages of East Jaintia Hills district. Awareness was given on balance use of fertilizers and demonstration was conducted on application of biofertilizers.

An awareness-cum-training programme under the “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” was successfully organized by KVK West Jaintia Hills in collaboration with ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region and with the support of ATMA at Sabahmuswang Village, West Jaintia Hills. The programme aimed to promote sustainable farming practices by encouraging the use of organic inputs and minimizing the excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
During the technical session, Dr H. Talang, Senior Scientist, ICAR, delivered a lecture on the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Tuber Crops, highlighting improved production technologies and their significance for the region. Dr B. Makdoh, Senior Scientist, ICAR, spoke on the principles and benefits of Natural Farming, emphasizing eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural practices.
The programme also included a practical demonstration and hands-on training on Azolla cultivation, enabling farmers and SHG members to learn its cultivation and utilization.The programme concluded with a scientist-farmer interactive session and input distribution.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jaintia Hills, conducted awareness programmes under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan at Niriang and Moodymmai villages of Thadlaskein Block. Farmers were sensitized on the importance of Natural Farming for improving soil fertility and maintaining soil health. Demonstrations on the use of biofertilizers and biopesticides were also conducted to promote healthy crop growth, enhanced nutrient uptake, and sustainable agricultural production.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jaintia Hills organized a Khet Bachao Abhiyan at Moosyiem and Moolibang villages of Laskein block, West Jaintia Hills where farmers were sensitized about the importance of biopesticides and biofertilizers for improving soil fertility and maintaining soil health. A demonstration on seedling treatment of paddy using biofertilizers was also conducted to promote better plant growth, enhanced nutrient uptake, and improved crop productivity.

KVK Jaintia Hills Promotes Natural Farming under Khet Bachao Abhiyan at Khliehriat East Village, East Jaintia Hills on June 19, 2026 in collaboration with the BJP Kisan Morcha, East Jaintia Hills District. The programme was inaugurated by Shri R. Lyngdoh, Secretary, BJP Kisan Morcha, East Jaintia Hills District, who acknowledged the efforts of KVK Jaintia Hills in promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the district.
Awareness and training was given on the preparation and application of Jeevamrit, Beejamrit, and Neemshastra as effective natural farming inputs for improving soil health and reducing dependence on chemical inputs.
