PREPAREDNESS IS THE FIRST STEP IN DISASTER MANAGEMENT.

Today a Disaster Management Awareness Session cm Training Program was given by the NDRF Personnel stationed at Sylee, Malbazar to the Officers and force of Gorubathan PS.
Inspector Sunil Barman of the 2nd Bn. NDRF and his team imparted vital lessons on different types of disaster scenarios and ways to do Search and Rescue operations during those times.

On the basis of source information, today, a team of Kalimpong District Police intercepted a Government Hired Bolero vehicle bearing number WB 58 BB 7111 and detained the driver namely Subin Chettri @ Subedi (44 Years) S/O- Lt Suresh Suresh Kumar Chettri of 9th Mile, Rishi Road and from his possession recovered huge quantity of scheduled narcotic drugs.

He had been arrested earlier too on similar charges and was out on bail.

He will be produced before Ld Court tomorrow.

Awareness sessions on the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons was conducted at 17 locations across Kalimpong District by Kalimpong District Police in collaboration with District Administration.
The interactive session was followed by a quiz where the students won attractive prizes.

After working out information a naka was held today at Birik dara by Kalimpong Police team where 1. Anup Biswakarma(28 yrs) s/o Bal Kumar Biswakarma of Teesta DI Fund and 2. Harshu Kankhuria (24 yrs) s/o Lt. Jugal Kishore Kankhuria of Himali Goan, Peshok, PS R R, Darjeeling were detained and from their possession intermediate quantity of suspected Brown Sugar was recovered.

The arrested persons will be produced before the Ld. Court tomorrow.

On the basis of information received from a local resident, Kalimpong PS team
detained two persons namely Sonam Gyatso Bhutia of 10th Mile A/P Tirpai and Sayam Ghishing of of Rousay Bazar while they were travelling towards kalimpong from Odlabari.
Intermediate quantity of suspected brown sugar was recovered.
The two wheeler in which they were travelling was seized and the duo were arrested.
They will be produced before the Ld. Court tomorrow.
