Traffic Restrictions in Kalimpong Town in c/w GE to WBLA 2026.

Today a combined force briefing of all state police and CAPF officers was conducted by the Hon’ble Observers, DEO, SP and DFC Kalimpong Constituency.
All personnel were briefed about their role and responsibilities and the main objectives of police arrangement i.e,
1. Fear free voting.
2. No violence.
3. No intimidation.
4. No inducement.
5. No Chappa (bogus voting).
6. No booth Jamming.
7. No Source Jamming (obstruction to movement of voters from their house/Locality).
8. No direct or indirect involvement of any gov servant of any capacity in any political activity.

As part of Confidence Building Measures, District Magistrate Kalimpong, Superintendent of Police Kalimpong and District Central Force Coordinator visited Booth No 22/130, 22/149 & 22/73 at various locations within Kalimpong District. They interacted with local voters and ensure them of a Fear Free Election as per direction of Election Commission of India.

As part of ICJS project, Kalimpong Police conducted an awareness session at Sood Garden Vista, 8th Mile Kalimpong organised by BSA Kalimpong on cyber saftey on 11.04.2026 to impart knowledge on cyber saftey to the students of various school of Kalimpong.

Kalimpong Cyber PS has secured it’s first arrest in Digital Arrest case.
In 2024, Prof Thapa of Kalimpong was defrauded if more than 12 lakh rupees under the threat of a fraudulent digital arrest.
After thorough investigation, IO SI Nihar Ranjan Das and his team could finally arrest the main accused Villanayaki T. (28 yrs) from Tamil Nadu on 2.4.2026.
It has been learnt that there are more than 60 cases registered against the same accused all over India.
The remaining investigation is in process.

সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া-তে ছড়িয়ে পড়া খবরটি আমরা যাচাই করে দেখেছি তা সম্পূর্ণ ভিত্তিহীন এবং মিথ্যা। পরিস্থিতি এখন সম্পূর্ণ পুলিশের নিয়ন্ত্রণে রয়েছে। কোনো প্রকার হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। একজন কনস্টেবল এবং একজন স্থানীয় ব্যক্তি সামান্য আহত হয়েছেন। বর্তমানে তাঁরা দুজনেই স্থিতিশীল অবস্থায় আছেন এবং সুস্থ হয়ে উঠছেন।

The news has been verified and found to be false. The situation was handled by the police and no casualties have been reported. One Constable and a local who has received minor injuries is stable and recovering.

On 21.3.2026 Kalimpong thana received information that a minor girl was missing from kalimpong town.

SI Barun Biswakarma along with his team traced the victim to Bihar and rescued her on 30.03.2026.

She was safely brought back to Kalimpong and will be handed over to her parents.

As part of ICJS project, Kalimpong Police conducted an awareness program at Holy Child School, Gorubathan on 27.03.2026 to impart knowledge to the students on their personal rights and safety with an objective to make them aware of the New Criminal Laws, POCSO, ill effects of Social Media and online gaming, evils of drug addiction and substance abuse.
A question and answer session was also held at the end of the session and correct answers were rewarded.
