“Kirti Sanjeevan Charitable Trust” has been formed by former and current students of Kirti College, Dadar, Mumbai – 28.The trust has been carrying out various social programs aimed towards the betterment of our society. As one of it's social service initiatives, the trust has embarked on building an old age home for seniors named “ Sau Vimalbai Sakharam Shinde Old Age Home “ at Village Kolam-Mamno

li, Kalyan, Thane District. The facility will have a 3500 sq ft building housing 20 beds with all the conveniences seniors for a comfortable, homely stay. The old age home will be run on ‘No Profit, No Loss Basis’ by the trust. Shri Navnath Sakharam Shinde and Shri Machindra Sakharam Shinde have very generously donated a plot of land measuring 8000 sqft towards this cause, free of any cost. Currently the construction work for the proposed old age home is in full swing on this plot.

Changing the home..

Every change in life is difficult, different and unstoppable...One fine day, we were travelling around Murbad area and we stopped at a cute little hotel for authentic Indian lunch consisting of Bhakari. Also, on the hotel itself, I saw a board of Kirti Sanjivan. As we entered the hotel, I asked the hotel owner and asked about Kirti Sanjeevan. He pointed at the group of four sitting at the nearby table and said they will let me know more about the same. I was pleasantly surprised to find that one of them was my ex-student Avinash Manjarekar, coming towards me with a huge smile. He is one of the key persons of Kirti Sanjivan responsible for the Old Age home. This place happened to be right behind the hotel on the main road. Avinash took us around to show the place. We were in for surprise. There was a bunglow, smiling at us and extending a warm Welcome. It had a garden in the front engulfed by cheerful atmosphere. It was no where near the concept of Old age home. It was in fact, something of a Happy Home.
