A CME program was organized by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, AIIMS Kalyani, in collaboration with the Society of Fetal Medicine (SFM), Bengal Chapter on 23rd May 2026 as part of ongoing efforts towards establishing Fetal Medicine subspeciality unit at the institute. The event witnessed the active participation of 75 delegates from faculty members, clinicians, and residents across different disciplines. The sessions covered important topics in fetal medicine, including prenatal screening for aneuploidies, congenital anomalies, preeclampsia, and hemoglobinopathies The program was marked by highly engaging discussions and interactive question-answer session.

AIIMS Kalyani proudly hosted the "National Conclave cm Workshop on Medication Safety–Patient Safety: Navigating Special Scenarios & Antimicrobial Resistance" on 22nd May 2026, bringing together leading experts from pharmacovigilance, clinical practice, academia, and the healthcare industry.
The conclave was formally inaugurated by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Y. K. Gupta, President, AIIMS Kalyani; Dr. Arvind Sinha, Executive Director, AIIMS Kalyani; and chief guest Dr. Madhabananda Kar, Director, AIIMS Bhopal.
The programme was organised by the Department of Pharmacology in association with Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), the event served as a national platform for discussions on medication safety, antimicrobial resistance, pharmacovigilance practices, and patient-centered healthcare strategies. More than 80 participants and faculties from 7 INI and other medical colleges actively participated in this event.

The inauguration of Medicine Disposal Bins under the Drug Take Back Program was successfully held on 22.05.2025 at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Kalyani. The initiative was organized by the Central Pharmacy in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology.

The medicine disposal bins were formally inaugurated by the esteemed dignitaries including Dr Y K Gupta, President, AIIMS Kalyani; Dr Arvind Sinha, Executive Director, AIIMS Kalyani; and Dr. Madhabananda Kar, Director, AIIMS, Bhopal. Their presence highlighted the importance of promoting safe and responsible disposal of expired and unused medicines.

During the event, patients and all attendees were sensitized regarding the need for proper medicine disposal practices. They were encouraged to actively participate in the initiative by voluntarily depositing expired medicines into the designated disposal bins.

The program aimed to create awareness about the environmental and public health implications of improper disposal of medicines. Emphasis was laid on the fact that safe disposal of expired medicines is a collective responsibility, requiring active participation from healthcare institutions, patients, and the community at large.

AIIMS, Kalyani marked a monumental milestone in public healthcare with the grand inauguration of its state-of-the-art LASER Unit under the Department of Burns & Plastic Surgery. The cutting-edge facility was officially inaugurated by Shri Samik Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), on May 20, 2026. The event was hosted by Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Sinha, Executive Director of AIIMS Kalyani, alongside senior administrative officials, medical faculty, and dignitaries from the Airport Authority of India (AAI). This newly established LASER Unit stands as a landmark achievement, being the first-of-its-kind facility in any government hospital across India, including Institutes of National Importance (INIs).
