Every week I meet with various departments to showcase our ongoing RCOH efforts and accomplishments. This week we learned more about the installation of One Step, which is essentially a type of tile installed on our enlisted Mess Decks area. The significance of this weekly accomplishment is that it shows tangible progress in a space every single Sailor will either pass through daily, assigned to work in, or enjoy a meal in while serving aboard our warship. Also noteworthy, I attended an awards ceremony recently to recognize three of our Sailors - one of whom recently transferred. CW04 Gregory Collins, Master Chief Machinist's Mate Richard Quinn and Personnelman 1st Class Mishell Brownlee received Lincoln on Leadership awards, which were presented by The Stennis Center for Public Service. Every year the Stennis Center for Public Service recognizes the top performing Sailors on the deck plates whose leadership has made an impact on the ship and crew and has been recognized their peers and seniors. It was an absolutely wonderful opportunity to take the time to recognize some of our command's top-performing Sailors who are truly making a difference at the deck plates with proven and appreciated results.
