ਚੋਣ ਰੋਲ ਆਬਜ਼ਰਵਰ ਨੇ ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ, ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ
ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਲਗਾਏ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਕੈਂਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ; ਦਰੁਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੁੱਟੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ
ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਯੋਗ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਵਾਂਝਾ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ; ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਬਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ 'ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼
ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ, 6 ਸਤੰਬਰ: ਪਸ਼ੂ ਪਾਲਣ, ਡੇਅਰੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਚੋਣ ਰੋਲ ਆਬਜ਼ਰਵਰ ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਸੁਧਾਈ 2026 ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਕੀ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿਖੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਰੋਲ ਆਬਜ਼ਰਵਰ ਨੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਬਾਂਸਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਯੋਗ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਝਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਡਰਾਫਟ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਵੋਟ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਚਾਹਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ 12 ਸਤੰਬਰ, 2026 ਤੱਕ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਫਾਰਮ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਰੋਲ ਆਬਜ਼ਰਵਰ ਨੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 18 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਬਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਖਾਲਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ/ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੋਗ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ, ਰੈਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਬ-ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੈਰ-ਹਾਜ਼ਰ, ਤਬਦੀਲ ਹੋਏ, ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਡੁਪਲੀਕੇਟ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੇਰਵੇ ਸਹਿਤ ਫੀਡਬੈਕ ਮੰਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਈ.ਆਰ.ਓਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਏ.ਈ.ਆਰ.ਓਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਲੇਬਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ, ਡੇਰਿਆਂ, ਫੈਕਟਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਫੀਲਡ ਦੌਰੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਦਰੁਸਤ, ਅੱਪਡੇਟ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੁੱਟੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਵੈਰੀਫਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਈ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਰ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਦੀ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੀ.ਐਲ.ਓਜ਼ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਰੋਲ ਆਬਜ਼ਰਵਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਯੋਗ / ਆਦਰਪੂਰਵਕ ਵਤੀਰਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 1 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ, 2026 ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਮਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੋਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਦਰਜ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ 12 ਸਤੰਬਰ, 2026 ਤੱਕ ਸਵੈ-ਘੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਪੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਫਾਰਮ 6 ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਵਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਓਵਰਸੀਜ਼/ਐਨ.ਆਰ.ਆਈ. ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਫਾਰਮ 6A, ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਕਟਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਫਾਰਮ 7, ਅਤੇ ਇੰਦਰਾਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਰੁਸਤੀ ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਲਈ ਫਾਰਮ 8 ਵੀ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਾਅਵਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਐਤਰਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ 8 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ, 2026 ਤੱਕ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦਕਿ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ 12 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ, 2026 ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਵੋਟਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਵੋਟਰ ਸਰਵਿਸਿਜ਼ ਪੋਰਟਲ voters.eci.gov.in ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾਂ ECINET ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਐਪ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਫਾਰਮ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਵਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਫੀਡਬੈਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਮੰਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਸੁਝਾਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੋਗ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਚੋਣ ਰੋਲ ਆਬਜ਼ਰਵਰ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਐਸ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਕੈਂਪ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਸੈਕਰਡ ਹਾਰਟ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਸਕੂਲ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕੰਨਿਆ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੌਰੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੀ.ਐਲ.ਓਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਏ.ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਡੀ. ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਆਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਪਛਾਣੇ ਗਏ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੈਰੀਫਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਘਰ-ਘਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਵੈਰੀਫਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੀ.ਐਲ.ਓਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਸਥਾਰਪੂਰਵਕ ਫੀਡਬੈਕ ਵੀ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਪਟਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਅਸਲੀ ਵੋਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸਯੋਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਏ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੀ ਵੈਰੀਫਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਬੀ.ਐਲ.ਓਜ਼ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਭੰਡਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ, ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੁੱਟੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਅਹਿਮ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਦਕਿ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਯੋਗ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲੇ।

Kapurthala, September 6: Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries, Rahul Bhandari, who is also the Election Roll Observer for Kapurthala district, on Sunday reviewed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls and held meetings with district officials and representatives of political parties.
Presiding over a meeting with officials at the District Administrative Complex, Roll Observer along with Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal, stressed that no eligible citizen should be left out of the electoral rolls. He asked the officials to ensure that citizens whose names have been left out of the draft electoral roll, as well as those seeking registration of a new vote, are provided every possible assistance to submit the prescribed forms along with the required documents by September 12, 2026.
The Roll Observer directed officials to organize special enrollment camps in schools and colleges/universities to facilitate the registration of first-time young voters who have attained the age of 18 years. He also called for awareness seminars, rallies and other voter-awareness activities to encourage eligible youth to enroll themselves in the electoral rolls. He also reviewed the status of voters falling under the Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) categories in each subdivision and sought detailed feedback from the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).
He directed EROs and AEROs to undertake extensive field visits, particularly to labour-intensive areas, deras, factories and other locations of their respective jurisdictions to ensure thorough verification and preparation of accurate, updated and error-free electoral rolls. He made it clear that the SIR exercise must be undertaken with utmost seriousness and that there should be no negligence at any stage. He further told that every notice issued during the SIR process should be personally heard by senior officials and that grievances and complaints of citizens must be addressed promptly and properly.
Emphasizing the importance of the BLOs’ role, the Roll Observer said that they should remain polite and courteous while dealing with citizens and must have clear and comprehensive knowledge of the SIR process so that voters receive correct guidance. He informed that citizens eligible to be enrolled as voters with reference to the qualifying date of October 1, 2026, can submit Form 6 along with the declaration form by September 12, 2026. Similarly, form 6A for registration of overseas/NRI voters, Form 7 for deletion of names from the electoral roll, and Form 8 for correction of entries and shifting of residence can also be submitted during this period. He said that all claims and objections received during the prescribed period would be disposed of by October 8, 2026, while the final electoral roll will be published on October 12, 2026. Voters can also submit the prescribed forms online through the Election Commission of India’s voter services portal at voters.eci.gov.in or through the ECINET Mobile App.
In a separate meeting with representatives of political parties, Bhandari sought their feedback and suggestions regarding the ongoing SIR exercise. He assured them that all genuine suggestions would be duly considered and acted upon as per the prescribed procedure. He also sought the active cooperation of political parties in encouraging the enrollment of eligible young voters and in making the SIR process more effective and inclusive.
Earlier, the Election Roll Observer inspected various polling booths where special SIR camps were being organized as part of the electoral roll revision exercise on Sunday. During his visit to Sacred Heart Public School and Hindu Kanya College, he interacted with BLOs and reviewed the progress of verification of voters identified under the ASDD categories. He also took detailed feedback from BLOs regarding the issues and challenges faced during the house-to-house verification exercise and reviewed the status of disposal of cases. He directed them to ensure that every genuine voter is given due opportunity to remain enrolled and that all verification is carried out carefully to maintain the accuracy and credibility of the electoral rolls.
Appreciating the dedicated efforts of the BLOs, Bhandari said that their role was crucial in ensuring a transparent, credible and error-free electoral roll revision process. He urged them to continue working with diligence and sincerity, while ensuring that genuine grievances are addressed promptly and every eligible citizen gets due opportunity to participate in the electoral process.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Parvinder Singh Dhot and Inderjit Singh Jugnu from the Aam Aadmi Party, Tanveer Singh and Dalwinder Singh from the Shiromani Akali Dal, Manpreet Singh and Abhishek Sharma from the Indian National Congress, Nirmal Singh Nahar from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jaswant Singh and Rakesh Kumar from the Bahujan Samaj Party, besides the SDMs and other senior district officials. Upon his arrival at the District Administrative Complex, the Election Roll Observer was accorded a guard of honour.
