When Bhimabai and her daughter launched 'Ajjichya Pustakancha Hotel,' the taunts and harsh words from people around her were relentless.
“People would comment that a woman should stay home instead of wandering around selling tea. But I didn’t care about what they said.
Gradually, I used my savings to expand the eatery. I noticed that whenever people waited for their food, they would be glued to their phones, scrolling endlessly instead of talking to each other. I wanted to change this,” she explains.
As someone who loved reading but never had the opportunity to indulge in it, Bhimabai decided to reintroduce reading to others.
“We started with just 25 books on a stand, encouraging people to pick one up and read while we prepared their meal,” she shares.
People began to appreciate her effort, and word quickly spread. That small collection of 25 books has now grown to an impressive 5,000!
