Trainees of the Fruit Production Technology programme stepped into the field for a hands-on learning experience at the (Centre for Sub-Tropical Fruits (CSTF), Ladwa, Kurukshetra.)
They got a practical understanding of scientific orchard establishment, high-density planting systems, and modern canopy management techniques for major subtropical fruit crops.
The learning continued at the (Integrated Beekeeping Development Centre (IBDC), Ramnagar,) where trainees discovered the inseparable bond between fruits and honeybees. They learned how honeybees contribute to over 60% of pollination in fruit crops, making scientific beekeeping a key pillar for quality production and sustainable horticulture.

An Exposure Visit of FPO farmers was organized by the Horticulture Training Institute, Uchani, Karnal to the College of Food Processing and Bio-Energy, Anand, Gujarat.
During the visit, the participating farmers gained practical knowledge of various post-harvest processing technologies for horticultural crops. They were provided with live demonstrations of the vegetable canning line, tomato processing line, drying and dehydration line, and Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) line. The farmers also learned about the operation and applications of different equipment used in the processing and value addition of horticultural produce.
The exposure visit enhanced the farmers' understanding of modern food processing techniques, post-harvest management, and opportunities for value addition, which can contribute to improved income and reduced post-harvest losses.
