India's first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, now decommissioned but which saw action during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, is finally being broken up. The process is expected to be completed within seven-eight months, its owner said here Friday.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself witnessed the raw combat power exuded by an aircraft carrier sailing on the high seas last month, his government is now all set to approve the much-delayed infusion of funds to finish the ongoing construction of INS Vikrant at Cochin Shipyard.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on board. Jai Hind!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated the the country's largest warship carrier INS Vikramaditya to the nation. Arriving on board the warship in a Sea King chopper, the Prime Minister was given the ceremonial guard of honour by the Navy and was briefed about the warship.
