🌿👩🌾 RAWE Students Experience Practical Learning at CPCRI Experimental Fields 👨🌾🌿
As part of their RAWE program, 13 agriculture students from Jagannath University, Jaipur and LPU, Jalandhar visited the CPCRI Experimental Fields, Kasaragod, for a hands-on learning experience facilitated by KVK Kasaragod.
🌴 The students explored the Coconut-Based High Density Multistoried Cropping System, where crops like banana, black pepper, pineapple, nutmeg, and cinnamon are cultivated in an integrated, space-efficient model.
🥥 A visit to the Desiccated Coconut Powder Processing Unit offered insights into value addition and rural entrepreneurship.
🌱 At the Coconut Germplasm Nursery, students interacted on key topics like:
✔️ Dwarf and tall coconut types
✔️ Tender nut varieties
✔️ Region-specific selections for diverse farm needs
🍫 A special session on scientific cocoa cultivation was led by Mr. Kiranmoy Patra, RAWE coordinator, introduced the students to scientific cocoa cultivation, with a focus on best practices and varieties suitable for the region.
💬 The visit offered a meaningful bridge between classroom concepts and field realities—enriching young minds through practical exposure, interaction, and inspiration.
