Baladevjew Temple’s Rath Yatra had been facing repeated delays due to damaged wheels on the old 14-wheeled chariot, often postponing the journey to the Mausima temple by nearly two days, including during Bahuda Yatra.
Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said the state approved a ₹1 crore grant to build a new chariot, with independent guidelines issued by the Law Department to ensure traditional norms are followed.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to preserving the temple’s rituals and heritage, stating the move will benefit devotees and pilgrims across Odisha. HelloKendrapada
