Yesterday, i.e. 30.08.2026, on receipt of a suo-motu complaint from LPSI Aneswa Maity regarding theft of a laptop bag from Train No. 18003 Up Rani Siromoni Express on 29.08.2026, Panskura GRPS conducted investigation and surveillance with the assistance of source information and local police.
On 30.08.2026, based on credible source information, a raid was conducted at Panskura Car Parking Area, resulting in the detention of Haru Pal (32), S/O Gopal Pal, Vill. & P.O./P.S. Nandakumar, Purba Medinipur. The stolen bag containing the laptop was recovered from his possession and seized under proper seizure list through Audio/Video E-Sakshya. During interrogation, he confessed to the theft from Rani Siromoni Express at Mecheda Railway Station.
Accordingly, he was arrested under Sections 305(C)/317(2) BNS. Panskura GRPS Case No. 23/26 dated 30.08.2026 was registered, and the accused was forwarded to the Ld. Court, Tamluk.

On 29.08.2026, the Platform Duty Party of Santragachi RPIC noticed a minor girl loitering aimlessly on Platform No. 2/3 at Santragachi Railway Station. On counselling, she disclosed her identity. Her aunt was contacted over the phone, and the minor was kept safely at the Santragachi RPIC office under the care of Lady Constable. Subsequently, her aunt Jaly Khatun, of the same address, arrived with valid identity documents. After due verification, the minor girl was handed over to her aunt in good health and condition.
