General Hospital Ernakulam is a 783 bedded multi speciality hospital and is one of the most well-equipped government hospitals in Kerala. ed healthcare professionals. The hospital administration was taken over by government of Kerala after the state was formed and is presently under the control of the Directorate of Health Services. The hospital situated in the heart of the city Kochi is the only hospital with facilities to treat cancer patients in the Government sector apart from the medical colleges .The hospital caters to entire Ernakulum District and other neighbouring districts like Trissur, Kottayam, Alapuzha and Idukki.We have to our credit numerous path breaking achievements in the field, which is indeed the result of our undeterred pursuit of excellence in healthcare.

Visit to DEIC, General Hospital Ernakulam

Dr. M. Sreehari- Founder of Hridyam for Little Hearts programme, along with Gene Bukhman, MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Director of the Center for Integration Science in Global Health Equity, WHO Collaborating Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital/Mass General Brigham, and Co-chair of the NCDI Poverty Network, visited the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC), General Hospital Ernakulam.

The purpose of the visit was to understand the services and activities provided at the DEIC, including:

- Neurodevelopmental assessment
- DASSI evaluation
- Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) assessment and intervention
- Type 1 Diabetes programme
- Hridyam for Little Hearts programme for children below 18 years of age

The visitors interacted with the DEIC team and reviewed the comprehensive multidisciplinary services being provided for early identification, assessment, intervention, referral, and follow-up of children with developmental and medical conditions.They also visited the SNCU and observed pulse oximeter screening activities.

പതിനൊന്നാം ഡിവിഷനിലെ 93-ാം നമ്പർ അങ്കണവാടിയിൽ ജെപിഎച്ച്എൻ നഴ്‌സ് മിനി സിസ്റ്റർ മുലയൂട്ടലിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ബോധവൽക്കരണ ക്ലാസ് നടത്തി. പരിപാടിയിൽ വാർഡ് കൗൺസിലറുടെ സാന്നിധ്യവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
അമ്മമാർക്ക് മുലയൂട്ടലിന്റെ ഗുണങ്ങൾ, കുഞ്ഞിന്റെ ആരോഗ്യത്തിലും വളർച്ചയിലും അതിന്റെ പങ്ക്, ആദ്യ ആറുമാസം പൂർണ്ണമായും മുലപ്പാൽ മാത്രം നൽകേണ്ടതിന്റെ ആവശ്യകത എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ച് ഹെൽത്ത് എജുക്കേഷൻ നൽകി. അമ്മമാരും കുട്ടികളും സജീവമായി പങ്കെടുത്ത ഈ പരിപാടി ആരോഗ്യകരമായ മാതൃ-ശിശു പരിപാലനത്തെ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് സഹായകമായി.
