The India–Oman CEPA enters into force, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral economic engagement by enhancing trade, expanding exports, and supporting employment generation across sectors. The Agreement is designed to deepen commercial linkages and create new opportunities for businesses on both sides.

It also establishes a strategic economic corridor connecting South Asia, the Gulf, and East Africa through Oman’s logistics and trade networks. This positions the partnership as a key enabler of India’s integration into regional and global value chains under the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

The India–Oman CEPA marks a significant step in expanding global opportunities for Indian talent. Through Oman’s best-ever services offer to India across 127 services sub-sectors, the Agreement unlocks new avenues for professionals, startups and knowledge-led enterprises.

With enhanced mobility provisions, including stay periods of up to 90 days for business visitors, 180 days for independent professionals and up to 4 years for intra-corporate transferees, the CEPA strengthens professional mobility, services trade and deeper economic integration between India and Oman.

The India–Oman CEPA strengthens this partnership by improving market access and supporting long-term growth in agricultural trade. India is Oman’s second-largest agricultural supplier, with exports spanning rice, fruits, meat, eggs, biscuits and condiments.

The agreement creates new opportunities for Indian farmers, exporters and food processors while deepening supply chain linkages between the two countries.

The India–Oman CEPA is opening new avenues for India’s plastics sector by improving market access and strengthening export competitiveness. With duty-free access and growing opportunities in Oman, the agreement supports greater participation of India’s MSME-led manufacturing ecosystem while expanding the global footprint of Indian plastic products.
