It must be a guiding principle in every effort for progress, whether in economic development, environmental sustainability, or social justice. A truly inclusive future means persons with disabilities are recognised as key players in these areas, driving forward solutions that benefit everyone. But for this to happen, we must dismantle the systemic barriers that prevent persons with disabilities from taking up leadership roles.

Advisor for Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak on Tuesday emphasized that an inclusive and sustainable future requires every voice to be heard and every perspective to be valued. He made these remarks while speaking as the special guest at the International

PARALYMPICS NOT OLYMPICS

It has been noted that some media outlets and officials are
mistakenly referring to Paralympian Hokato Hotozhe Sema’s
remarkable Bronze Medal victory as an Olympic win.
We would like to respectfully clarify that Hokato’s achievement
took place at the Paralympic Games, not the Olympic Games.
The Paralympics is the premier international sporting event for
athletes with disabilities, held alongside the Olympics.

Hokato’s historic victory at the Paralympic Games is an incredible
milestone, and we celebrate him for bringing honour and pride to
Nagaland and the Nation. We kindly request that media and officials
ensure this distinction is correctly acknowledged in their reports
and messages.
