Dear friends,

I had the privilege to take up the dream of thousands from across my Assembly Constituency. Dreams of young and old of dame and sire, widows and destitute.

Once in awhile the story of great men are relived; fables become real and the sheer joy surpass despair. I believe that everything has its season. I have contested the foregone bye election with issues facing the people. The people had voted and I concede to the result of General Assembly Bye Election to the 14-Southern Angami-I AC, 2020 with grace and dignity.

Victory and defeat are two side of the same coin; hence defeat is part of the game so much as failure is the pillar of success. The pandemic had given us little time to connect with each other; therefore, I realized I was not able to make myself visible enough to engage with my esteemed constituent members.
Through my journey over the months, my failure has taught me that I can improve more than what I am now. This cloud of despair will soon pass and I am convince we will one day march towards the dawn of light with the rising sun at the horizon.

Notwithstanding the outcome of the election result, in retrospect, I am truly thankful to all my family members, friends, well wishers and affirm to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all my steadfast supporters who had weathered the election campaign overcoming immense testing with poise and conviction with the singular goal; to realize our shared dreams of equality, inclusiveness and progress. Your trust and faith in our shared vision will continue to inspire me and I hope we will keep that ember burning not losing sight of the future, which is to usher in reforms for empowerment of the youths; address the plight of the women;
widows; voice the concern of the farmers and initiate best practices for social transformation.

I take this opportunity to congratulate our elected leader Shri. Medovoto Yhokha, who will now represent our 14-Southern Angami Assembly Constituency in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and wish him the very best. I want to thank my friend and worthy opponent Shri. Kikovi Kirha of NPF party for making the election contest worthwhile.

In conclusion I am thankful to the Lord almighty for His abundant grace and for keeping us all safe throughout the course of the bye election.
With this few words I remain grateful.

My dear Friends,

I feel pride and gratitude for this wonderful campaign that we built together, this vast, diverse, creative, unruly, energized campaign. You represent the best of Southern Angami I and being your candidate has been one of the greatest honors of my life. You have taken the time to share with me your ideas, your concerns, and your aspirations, and I also sincerely appreciate your willingness to discuss what really matters to you.

To all the young men and women, who put their faith in this campaign and in me: I want you to know that nothing has made me prouder when you campaigned for me relentlessly in your own will, leaving aside all your important activities; despite knowing my many limitations. If the world had more people like you it would be a better place. You do make a difference. I don’t know how I can express the fullness of my heartfelt gratitude. Kindly accept my heartfelt gratitude.

You have invested your hopes and dreams in this effort and I intend to honour it. Our campaign was never about one person or even one election. It was about the place and the people we love and about building Southern Angami I that’s hopeful, inclusive and big-hearted.

Let me assure you my dear friends, we are not going to be defeated, we will certainly win. And the beauty of the victory will be that we all shall win together and make our constituency a place where people of all ages can count on a future.

If there is one force that can generate a positive social change in the society- it is the YOUTHS.
Young people are fearless, brave, impetuous, dynamic and self-confident. Young people have the ideas, the creativity and great energy to shape a better society.
Young people are full of hope and it is the responsibility of the leaders to guide, motivate and help them to fulfill their aspirations.
To me, this is Real Development.
THIS, I WOULD SAY - IS THE ANSWER TO REMEDY MANY OF THE PROBLEMS THAT PREVAILS IN OUR SOCIETY.

This post is Dedicated to all the amazing women of Southern Angami. They are the pride of Southern Angami I.
How well a society treats its women is one of the strongest indicators of the success and health of that society.
At this time, I want to assure all of them that I am by their sides in all their endeavors and will give my best to create opportunities for women and girls that advances security and prosperity for everybody.
The empirical research shows that when women participate in the economy, everyone benefits. When women participate in peace-making and peace-keeping, we are all safer and more secure. Women must be viewed and helped to become agents of change, makers of peace and the catalyst of progress.
