Govt. School Diaries: A noble initiative called "Grow With Me" is taking place at GPS Amenyong in Mokokchung District.

At the beginning of the academic year, each student received a flower pot, sponsored by the teachers, labeled with the student's name and planted with a flowering plant to nurture. Throughout the year, students are responsible for watering and caring for their own plants.

At the end of the academic year, they will take their thriving plants home—a living reminder of the care, responsibility, and love they have cultivated along the way.

To further strengthen the implementation of the Annual Curriculum and Pedagogical Plan (ACPP) under the School Transformation Strategy, refresher and reorientation sessions are being conducted across all Lighthouse School Complexes (LSCs) on staggered dates.

The sessions focus on competency-based lesson planning, effective teaching strategies, improving learning outcomes, and strengthening the monitoring of ACPP implementation.

Academic Leads also provided clarity on the various stages of the ACPP and addressed participants' queries, equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills needed for more effective implementation.

With the construction of the Lighthouse School Complexes (LSCs) progressing steadily, the District Committee for Lighthouse School Complexes (DCLSCs) plays a vital role in guiding, supporting, and monitoring the development and construction of the LSCs, while ensuring their timely completion.

In line with this, DCLSC meetings are being conducted regularly across all LSCs to review construction progress, facilitate coordination among stakeholders, and address any issues that may arise.

Working together, the DCLSC brings the district administration, relevant government departments, civil society organisations, faith-based organisations, student bodies, and communities together to turn the vision of LSCs into reality.

To ensure that all officials and employees under the Directorate of School Education (DoSE) are well acquainted with the key features of the SMILE App, the attendance marking process, and troubleshooting procedures, a capacity-building and hands-on training session is currently in progress at DoSE and will continue until 22 June.

The ongoing training sessions are designed to strengthen users’ understanding and enhance the effective implementation of the SMILE App.

As part of the School Transformation Strategy being implemented across the Lighthouse School Complexes (LSCs) and their spoke schools, the role of Academic Lead has been introduced to strengthen instructional leadership and support the effective implementation of the Annual Curriculum and Pedagogical Plan (ACPP).

To equip these Academic Leads with the necessary knowledge, tools, and implementation strategies, a three-day workshop commenced at SCERT on 17 June and will conclude on 19 June.

The workshop is being facilitated jointly by the School Transformation Team and SCERT.

In line with the observations, recommendations, and actions outlined by the World Bank regarding the implementation and monitoring of Environmental and Social (E&S) compliance requirements across the Lighthouse School Complexes (LSCs), a tour was conducted by the NECTAR PMU Environment and Social Team from 4 to 10 June.

The tour was undertaken to carry out site-specific compliance assessments and identify areas requiring corrective measures, with the aim of developing appropriate corrective action plans where necessary.

During the visit, the team inspected LSC Peren, LSC Tseminyu, LSC Wokha, LSC Mokokchung, LSC Longleng, and LSC Satakha.
