.
In a quiet corner of Thilixu Village under Chümoukedima district, Inatoli Assumi began a journey that would turn her culinary passion into a thriving enterprise—one jar of pickle at a time. What started as a small kitchen experiment slowly grew into a business dream, and that dream gave birth to Sulimi Flavours.

With limited machinery, few helping hands, and a modest amount of money, Inatoli began making pickles using traditional methods and local ingredients. The early days were challenging—juggling home responsibilities while preparing, packing, and selling pickles in the local market. Yet, the vision remained clear: to build something meaningful, something that would celebrate the rich flavors of Nagaland and reach more people.

Everything began to change in 2024, when Sulimi Flavours received support from the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme. With this support came a transformation. A dedicated pickle-making room was set up, equipped with proper machinery and a growing team. The production process became more streamlined, and the business could finally meet the increasing demand for its products.

This support didn’t just improve production—it boosted sales, strengthened the financial footing of the business, and, most importantly, gave the founder the confidence to dream bigger. “PMFME helped me visualize how my business could grow and gave me access to new markets,” she says with gratitude.

Today, Sulimi Flavours is a growing brand, proudly selling its products in the local market and aiming to expand into other states. While the journey hasn’t been without its ups and downs, the enterprise hasn’t faced any major challenges—thanks to the support system now in place and the unwavering commitment of its founder.

Looking ahead, the future is bright. There are plans to introduce more products, explore new markets, and continue sharing the unique taste of Nagaland with a wider audience.
