On the 21st Foundation Day of the All Santal Students' Union, we bow with deep respect to the sacrifices, struggles, and unwavering spirit that built this union from the ground up. This journey is not just of years, but of courage, unity, and the voice of our people rising stronger with time. As we step into another year, we carry forward this proud legacy with determination in our hearts—to stand fearless, serve selflessly, and uplift our community towards a brighter and more powerful future.

On this sacred Baha Porob, as the flowers bloom and the drums echo through our villages, may the blessings of Marang Buru and our revered ancestors guide us with strength and wisdom.

This is not just a festival — it is the heartbeat of our identity, our soil, and our spirit.
May our culture rise proudly, our unity grow stronger, and every Santal home shine with honor, peace, and prosperity.
May our roots remain deep and our future powerful.

A true leader knows that mistakes are part of growth and chooses forgiveness over revenge.
Through forgiveness, trust blooms, wounds mend, and relationships grow stronger, creating a community bound not by perfection, but by understanding.

New Delhi, February 2, 2026:
Today, the cries of a long-ignored community finally reached the highest seat of the nation 🇮🇳. Carrying the pain of burnt homes and broken lives, a delegation of the All Santal Students’ Union (ASSU) stood before the Hon’ble President of India and spoke for the Santals of Assam — with courage in their hearts and truth on their lips ✊. The President listened with compassion, assured serious consideration, and expressed deep concern over the tragic Karigaon incident in Kokrajhar, where innocent Santal families saw their homes turned to ashes on 20th January, 2026🔥.

From those ashes, a small but powerful hope has risen 🌱 — a hope that justice will prevail, wounds will heal, and dignity will return to those who suffered in silence. The journey is long, but today proved one thing: even the weakest voices can shake the highest walls.

In the middle of the chaos, when fear tried to divide hearts, one person stood up and spoke words of unity. They reminded both communities that pain has no religion and hope has no boundary. Their voice carried calm instead of anger, urging people to choose humanity over hatred, peace over revenge. In a time darkened by communal violence, their words became a small light—promising that prosperity and positivity can still grow when people decide to stand together.

Born under a torn plastic roof instead of a safe hospital wall, the baby’s (baby girl) first cry echoes through a relief camp scarred by communal violence. This child arrives into a world of uncertainty, where fear has replaced security and displacement has replaced home. Around the newborn lie exhausted parents, grieving families, and stories of loss too heavy for words—yet in the baby’s tiny breath lives a quiet defiance against hatred. Amid smoke-darkened memories and broken lives, this fragile life becomes a symbol of hope, reminding everyone that even in the darkest chapters of humanity, innocence still dares to be born, and peace still longs for a chance to grow.

All Santal Students' Union (ASSU) visited relief camp at Karigaon & Gaurinagar Kokrajhar District, Assam.
Since ages Santals have always been a soft target.

Families torn apart by communal violence now live a life they never chose—inside crowded relief camps where pain has become routine and hope feels fragile. Once filled with laughter, their homes are now memories reduced to ashes, and nights pass without sleep as fear clings to every heartbeat. Children ask questions no child should have to ask, elders stare silently at an uncertain tomorrow, and parents struggle to stay strong while their world has collapsed. In these camps, survival replaces living, dignity is tested daily, and every breath carries the weight of loss. Yet amid the grief, there remains a quiet courage—a desperate wish that peace will return, wounds will heal, and humanity will remember them not as victims of hatred, but as people who deserve safety, justice, and a future.

All Santal Students' Union (ASSU) demands the BTC Government, Assam Government & Government of India for quick rehabilitation of this people & create an environment to return them to their home.

Strongly condemned the attack on four persons & burning the vehicle at Karigaon, Kokrajhar.
This incident is misinterpreted by some media channels. The vehicle entered the area in the evening hours, so the locals were suspicious about the vehicle and tried to check the vehicle but it did not stop and hit a local resident which turned the situation to a violent means.
BTC is witnessing development & it cannot accept another communal clash like seen in 1996 Bodo-Santal conflict.

The incident of Karigaon attack is an accident turned violent and it should not be seen with a communal angle.
All Santal Students' Union (ASSU) strongly condemns this attack and request the police authority to immediately control the situation and bring to justice. We request both the communities to not take law in their hands & maintain peace.

We strongly condemn the brutal knife attack on Simon Kisku by unknown miscreants at Nagdolbari, Chirang district.
Santals have always been a soft target. Without the protection of the downtrodden there cannot be a peaceful BTC. Violence of any kind has no place in a civilized society. Justice must be served, and safety must be ensured for everyone.

We urge the Police authority to take immediate steps and severely punish the culprits behind this incident.
