🚦 Traffic Enforcement Drive in Kokrajhar

The District Transport Department, Kokrajhar, continued its enforcement drive today to ensure compliance with Motor Vehicle rules and promote safer roads across the district.

During today’s drive, action was taken against:

🔹 Helmet law violators
🔹 Vehicles with over-dimension projections
🔹 Tax-default vehicles

Altogether, 157 e-challans were issued today for violations of various Motor Vehicle rules.

Such enforcement measures are aimed at encouraging responsible road behaviour, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations and strengthening road safety across Kokrajhar.

Field Inspection of Census Operations Across Kokrajhar.

As part of ongoing administrative monitoring, Charge Officers across Kokrajhar district conducted extensive field visits today to review the ground-level activities of Enumerators and Supervisors engaged in the ongoing Census operations.

During the visits, officers reviewed field procedures, checked data accuracy and guided the personnel to ensure systematic and timely completion of assigned tasks as per official guidelines.

The District Administration, Kokrajhar remains committed to ensuring accuracy, accountability and efficiency in all field-level Census operations across the district.

To***co Control Drive Around Schools in Kokrajhar.

A joint enforcement drive was conducted within the 100-metre vicinity of 5 schools across Kokrajhar district to prevent the sale of to***co products near educational institutions.

In Kokrajhar Municipality, the drive was conducted along with the EO, Kokrajhar Municipal Board, and a police team led by the OC, Kokrajhar Sadar PS. Several shops were found violating Section 6(b) of COTPA, and necessary legal action was taken, including seizure of ci******es, pan masala and other to***co products.
Trade documents were also checked, and necessary action was taken wherever violations were found.

Warnings were issued to shopkeepers, while encouragingly, many shops that were warned during last month’s drive were found to have stopped selling such products.

The District Administration will continue such enforcement drives to ensure to***co-free and safer surroundings for school children.

Inspection of School Infrastructure Works at Mornoi T.E.

Today, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, visited Mornoi T.E. to inspect the construction of the new B-Class LP School (TG) building and the ongoing work for upgradation of the LP School to UP level, both under the PM-CSPY scheme.

During the visit, the District Commissioner reviewed the quality and progress of the works, along with their adherence to the approved Plan & Estimate. He was accompanied by the Assistant BDO, Hatidhura, technical staff and other officials.

The District Administration remains committed to ensuring quality educational infrastructure and proper implementation of development works, with a focus on providing better learning facilities for students and the local community.

The District Transport Department, Kokrajhar carried out extensive enforcement and awareness activities across the district today.

🔹 On-the-spot counselling on road safety awareness among drivers/riders and action against helmet law violators during checking
🔹 Action against wrong-side driving along the National Highway
🔹 Workshop conducted for all vehicle dealers in the district on the registration process
🔹 Road safety awareness counselling among DL aspirants before driving test
🔹 Practical driving tests conducted for DL aspirants by MVI
🔹 Action against tax default vehicles
🔹 Special drive against overloaded vehicles

🛣️ NHAI Takes Prompt Action for Pothole-Free NH-27

Following the joint inspection conducted by the District Administration, Kokrajhar, along the NH-27 stretch from Champa Bridge, Karigaon, to the Srirampur Inter-State Border, the NHAI Authority has promptly initiated repair works on the identified potholes.

Several potholes requiring urgent attention were identified during the inspection, and the NHAI has now started repair works on priority, in line with the directions of the District Administration.

The timely action reflects the continued commitment of the concerned authorities towards ensuring safer, smoother and pothole-free roads for commuters across Kokrajhar.

📋 Review Meeting on Census 2027 – Phase I

A comprehensive review meeting on the ongoing Phase I of Census 2027 was held today under the chairmanship of Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar.

The meeting reviewed the progress and field-level implementation of the enumeration process across the district. The District Commissioner stressed the importance of accurate and quality data collection and directed Charge Officers to closely monitor field operations and ensure accuracy by Enumerators and Supervisors.

The meeting was attended by the Additional District Commissioner, district officers and Census officials.

🏛️ Pension & GPF Samadhan Sabha Held at Kokrajhar

The Pension & GPF Samadhan Sabha, organised by the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Assam in coordination with the ARTPPG Department, Govt. of Assam, was held today at the DC Office, Kokrajhar.

The programme was chaired by Shri Pankaj Chakravarty, ACS, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, and attended by ADCs, Assistant Commissioners, Heads of Line Departments and other stakeholders.

The Sabha focused on resolving pending Pension and GPF cases, addressing grievances of retired employees and strengthening awareness among DDOs and Treasury Officers on Pension, GPF and Accounts matters.

The initiative reflects the commitment of the AG and District Administration towards timely resolution of pension and GPF-related grievances and better service delivery.

🛣️ Joint Inspection for Pothole-Free NH-27 in Kokrajhar

As part of the ongoing efforts to ensure a pothole-free and safer road network in Kokrajhar, a joint inspection was conducted on 2nd September along the NH-27 stretch from Champa Bridge, Karigaon, to the Srirampur Inter-State Border.

The inspection was carried out under the guidance of the Additional District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, as directed by the District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, in the presence of officials from the Kokrajhar District Police, NH-27 authorities and the Transport Department.

During the inspection, several potholes and damaged stretches requiring urgent attention were identified.

The Additional District Commissioner directed the NH authorities to take up necessary repair works on priority and complete the same within three days. The NH authorities have also been asked to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) during the upcoming District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) meeting.

The objective is to ensure that the entire inspected stretch is made pothole-free and safer for commuters before the next DRSC meeting.
