Nalbari, September 2: Tihu Police Station recovered lost gold ornaments in connection with GDE No. 09 dated August 31, 2026.

After proper verification, the ornaments were returned to their rightful owner. The recovery highlights the police department’s commitment to public service, integrity and maintaining public trust.

Biswajit Daimary and Pijush Hazarika visit progressive farmer’s farm in Tamulpur

Tamulpur, September 2: Assam Cabinet Minister Biswajit Daimary, along with Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika, visited the agricultural farm of progressive farmer Daimalu Basumatary at Chechapani village in Tamulpur.

Daimalu Basumatary cultivates dragon fruit on 5 bighas of land and areca nut on 6 bighas. His farming activities provide him with a good income and have also created employment opportunities for around ten people.

During the visit, the ministers interacted with the farmer and appreciated his efforts. Daimalu Basumatary’s successful farming has become an inspiration for young people in Tamulpur and across Assam.

The visit also aimed to encourage local farmers and boost their confidence in modern and profitable agricultural practices.

Wanted criminal arrested in Bongaigaon

Kokrajhar Police, in a major operation at South Dhaligaon in Bongaigaon, arrested wanted criminal Manjur Ali of Dhubri.

According to police, Ali was allegedly involved in criminal activities that created fear in Kokrajhar and other parts of Lower Assam.

Acting on the basis of Case No. 46/26, police successfully apprehended him. Further investigation is underway.

Howly, September 2: Acting on reliable information, a team of Howly Police Station arrested Rakibul Islam at Santibazar and recovered 15.64 grams of suspected he**in from his possession in the presence of independent witnesses.

Police have initiated necessary legal action, and further investigation is underway.

Wanted criminal held during Kokrajhar Police operation in Bongaigaon

Bongaigaon / Kokrajhar, September 2: Bagribari Police, with assistance from Bongaigaon Police, arrested wanted criminal Manzur Ali during an operation in South Dhaligaon.

Ali, who is reportedly from Khoraghat under Bagribari, had allegedly been staying in a rented house in South Dhaligaon while evading arrest.

Acting on specific information, police conducted a raid and apprehended him. Several SIM cards and documents were reportedly recovered from his possession.

According to reports, Manjur Ali had allegedly created fear in Kokrajhar and various other parts of Lower Assam on several occasions.
Based on Case No. 46/26, Kokrajhar Police managed to apprehend him.

Police have not yet disclosed further details about the case or the allegations against him.
