ICAR Shri Siddhagiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kaneri, Kolhapur conducted Awareness Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilizers on 26th May, 2026 at Village Nandgaon, Tal. Karveer, Dist. Kolhapur. During the program farmers were briefed about importance of green manuering, crop management practices in Kharif crops, advisory on EL-Nino situation, soil test based fertilizer management along with concept & component of INM & balanced use of fertilizers.

During the programme participants were guided about soil test based fertilizer management, importance of organic manures & organic inputs in soil health management, INM & balanced use of fertilizers practices in crop production.

ICAR-Shri Siddhagiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kaneri, Kolhapur organized Pre-Kharif Farmers Mela on 18th May, 2026 at Vhanali, Tal. Kagal. In this program Dr. Ravindra Singh (Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK Kaneri) gave information about the introduction of the program, the benefits of the program for the farmers and the management of pre-kharif crops. Mr. R.S.Waware, SMS Soil Science guided the farmers about Soil health management, and balanced use of fertlizers for kharif season. Mr. Pandurang Klae, SMS Agronomy talked about seed and cultivation methods of major kharif crops. Dr. Pushpanath Chougale (SMS, Animal Science) guided the farmers about cattle and milk management mainly for cows and buffaloes. He also gave the information about care and management of milking animals in summer and monsoon season. Dr. Sunil Kumar, SMS Agricultural Extension conducted the program. 42 farmers attended the program.
