A major Pediatrics study following over 10,000 kids found that those given smartphones before age 12 had higher rates of depression, obesity, and sleep problems in early adolescence. Instead of buying your children all the things you never had, focus on teaching them the things you were never taught.

Teach them values that no money can buy, integrity, empathy, patience, discipline, and self-respect. Teach them how to manage their emotions, how to communicate honestly, and how to treat others with kindness even when it’s not easy.
