Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Programme at NILD, Kolkata

The Department of Rehabilitation Nursing, National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (NILD), Kolkata, is organizing a Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Programme on "Enhancing Quality of Life through Holistic Care Pathway in Limb Amputation – A Patient-Centered Approach" on 6th–7th August, 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Lalit Narayan, Director, NILD, in the presence of Mr. Sougato Banerjee, Deputy Director (Administration), Dr. Ameed Equebal, Assistant Director (Training), Mrs. Sujata Mitra, Professor, College of Nursing, Medical College Hospital & WBNC Observer, Mrs. Jayanti Roy, Principal Nursing Officer, Kalyani NTS & WBNC Observer, and Ms. Sayantani Bhattacharyya, Sister Grade I (II).

The welcome address was delivered by Mrs. Subhra Srimani, Head, Department of Rehabilitation Nursing (Academic).

The two-day programme features eminent resource persons, including Dr. Rishov Hazra, Prof. (Retd.) Mitali Adhikari, Prof. Dr. Jharna Ghosh, Dr. Arka Dey, Mrs. Abanti Gopan, along with rehabilitation and nursing faculty members of NILD.

The CNE aims to enhance the knowledge and clinical competencies of nursing students and professionals by providing updated evidence-based practices and a holistic, patient-centered approach to the rehabilitation and care of persons with limb amputation, ultimately contributing to improved quality of life and better rehabilitation outcomes.

NILD, Kolkata successfully conducted an Online RCI-Accredited Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme on "Advanced Rehabilitation Methods and Technology for Management of Cerebral Palsy" on 5th August 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Lalit Narayan, Director, NILD, in the presence of Mr. Sougato Banerjee, Deputy Director (Administration), Dr. Ameed Eqeubal, Assistant Director (Training), Dr. P. K. Lenka, Head, Department of Prosthetics & Orthotics, and faculty members of the department.

Expert sessions were delivered by Mr. Parthasarthi Swain, Prosthetist andOrthotist (CRC Patna) and Mrs. Smita Nayak, Demonstrator (PDUNIPPD, New Delhi), focusing on advanced rehabilitation approaches and technologies for the holistic management of Cerebral Palsy. The programme strengthened the knowledge and clinical competencies of rehabilitation professionals.

राष्ट्रीय गतिशील दिव्यांगजन संस्थान, कोलकाता द्वारा साथ स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के तहत १६ से ३१ जुलाई, २०२६ तक "स्वच्छता पखवाडा" मनाया गया। स्वच्छता पखवाडा की शुरुआत दिनांक १६ जुलाई, २०२६ को संस्थान के कर्मचारियों एवं अधिकारियों द्वारा स्वच्छता की शपथ लेकर की गई। स्वच्छता पखवाडा के दौरान संस्थान को स्वच्छ एवं हरित पर्यावरण बनायें रखने के लिए विभिन्न स्वच्छता जागरूकता कार्यक्रम: छात्रों द्वारा स्वच्छता सम्बन्धी जागरूकता नाटक, पोस्टर-श्लोगन प्रतियोगिता, परिसर में विशेष सफाई अभियान, स्वच्छता एवं स्वास्थ विषय पर एक जागरूकता व्याख्यान का आयोजन भी किया गया।

संस्थान के छात्रों ने उत्साहवर्धक नुक्कड़ नाटक का मंचन किया, जिसमें स्वच्छता और स्वास्थ्य के महत्व के साथ-साथ स्वच्छता पर राजनितिक दृष्टीकोण पर प्रकाश डाला गया। अपने ऊर्जावान प्रदर्शन के माध्यम से उन्होंने अपने आस-पास के वातावरण को साफ रखने का संदेश दिया और लोगों को स्वस्थ वातावरण के लिए जिम्मेदारी लेने के लिए शपथ भी दिलवाई।

संस्थान परिसर को स्वच्छ बनाने के उद्देश्य से ३१ जुलाई, २०२६ को परिसर से विशेष सफाई अभियान एवं एक पेड़ माँ के नाम पर वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया, जिसमे संस्थान के निदेशक डॉ ललित नारायण सहित कर्मचारियों ने सक्रिय रूप से भाग लिया।

National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities, Kolkata, organized an Awareness Programme on Deafblindness on the theme *"Promoting the Rights, Inclusion and Well-being of Persons with Deafblindness"* in collaboration with AYJNISHD – Regional Centre, Kolkata on 29th July 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Lalit Narayan, Director, NILD, in the presence of Shri Sougato Banerjee, Dy. Director (Admin.), Dr. P. K. Lenka, Head, Department of Prosthetics & Orthotics, and Shri B. N. Rao, Assistant Director, AYJNISHD-RC, Kolkata.

The technical sessions were delivered by Mrs. Senjuti Giri, Lecturer, AYJNISHD-RC, Kolkata, and Mrs. Tanya Bagchi Dewan, Homebound Teacher, VI Unit, NILD, Kolkata, who highlighted the importance of safeguarding the rights, promoting inclusion, and enhancing the well-being of persons with deafblindness through awareness, education, and collaborative support.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from 70 students of NILD, Kolkata and AYJNISHD-RC, Kolkata, providing an excellent platform for learning, interaction, and strengthening understanding of the unique needs and aspirations of persons with deafblindness.

NILD, Kolkata, in collaboration with the India Autism Center, successfully organized an offline workshop on Autism on 28 July 2026 under the guidance of Dr. Lalit Narayan, Director, NILD, Kolkata.

The programme was inaugurated by Shri Sougato Banerjee, Deputy Director (Administration) and Shri Bratin Sarkar, Accounts Officer. Expert sessions by Mr. Milind Sonawane (Audiologist) and Ms. Smita Sharma (Certified Behavior Analyst) provided valuable insights into recent advances in autism rehabilitation.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents of autistic children, faculty members, students, and professionals, making the sessions highly interactive. A total of 75 participants attended the programme.

The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Eva Snehlata Kujur, Senior OT-cum-Junior Lecturer, NILD, Kolkata.

राष्ट्रीय गतिशील दिव्यांगजन संस्थान, कोलकाता में स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा का शुभारंभ

भारत सरकार के स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के अंतर्गत राष्ट्रीय गतिशील दिव्यांगजन संस्थान, कोलकाता में 16 से 31 जुलाई, 2026 तक स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।

पखवाड़ा का शुभारंभ आज 16 जुलाई, 2026 को संस्थान के निदेशक डॉ. ललित नारायण द्वारा संस्थान के अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों एवं विद्यार्थियों को स्वच्छता की शपथ दिलाकर किया गया।

स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा के दौरान संस्थान में विभिन्न स्वच्छता संबंधी गतिविधियों एवं जागरूकता कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाएगा। इसके अंतर्गत संस्थान के विद्यार्थियों द्वारा नुक्कड़ नाटक का मंचन भी किया जाएगा, जिसके माध्यम से दिव्यांगजनों तथा आम नागरिकों को स्वच्छता के प्रति जागरूक एवं संवेदनशील बनाने का संदेश दिया जाएगा।

संस्थान का उद्देश्य स्वच्छता के प्रति जन-जागरूकता बढ़ाना तथा स्वच्छ, स्वस्थ एवं समावेशी समाज के निर्माण में सभी की सक्रिय भागीदारी सुनिश्चित करना है।

जब हम अपने आसपास की सफ़ाई करते हैं, तब हम केवल कचरा नहीं हटाते, हम आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए एक स्वच्छ, स्वस्थ और बेहतर भारत की नींव रखते हैं।

आइए, स्वच्छ भारत को सिर्फ़ एक अभियान नहीं, बल्कि अपनी आदत, अपनी संस्कृति और अपनी पहचान बनाएं।

राष्ट्रीय गतिशील दिव्यांगजन संस्थान, कोलकाता द्वारा नगर राजभाषा कार्यान्वयन समिति (नराकास), कोलकाता (कार्यालय-5) के तत्वावधान में दिनांक 15 जुलाई 2026 को हिंदी प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता का सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन किया गया।

कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन डॉ. ललित नारायण, निदेशक, राष्ट्रीय गतिशील दिव्यांगजन संस्थान, कोलकाता ने श्रीमती देवश्री दत्ता, सदस्य सचिव, नराकास-कोलकाता (कार्यालय-5) तथा श्री सौगत बनर्जी, उपनिदेशक (प्रशासन), की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति में किया।

इस प्रतियोगिता में कोलकाता स्थित 13 केंद्रीय सरकारी कार्यालयों से कुल 26 प्रतिभागियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया एवं संस्थान के अन्य कर्मचारियों ने कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभाग किया। प्रतियोगिता का उद्देश्य राजभाषा हिंदी के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना तथा विभिन्न केंद्रीय सरकारी कार्यालयों के अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों में हिंदी के प्रयोग को प्रोत्साहित करना था।

कार्यक्रम का आयोजन सौहार्दपूर्ण एवं उत्साहपूर्ण वातावरण में संपन्न हुआ। प्रतिभागियों ने पूरे उत्साह के साथ प्रतियोगिता में भाग लिया तथा राजभाषा हिंदी के प्रति अपनी रुचि एवं ज्ञान का उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन किया। इस अवसर पर उपस्थित अतिथियों ने प्रतिभागियों का उत्साहवर्धन करते हुए राजभाषा हिंदी के प्रभावी क्रियान्वयन एवं प्रचार-प्रसार में ऐसे आयोजनों की महत्ता पर बल दिया।
