The Department of Technical Education, Training & Skill Development (TET&SD), Government of West Bengal, organized a Sensitization Workshop to explore partnerships as Anchor Industry Partners (AIPs) for the implementation of the PM-SETU Scheme in West Bengal on 30 July 2026 at Karigari Bhawan, New Town, Kolkata.

The workshop brought together around 30 Central and State PSUs, including several Maharatna and Navratna enterprises, Government-aided organizations, industry chambers, Sector Skill Councils, representatives from the World Bank, PMC representatives (KPMG), officers of the TET&SD Department, and other key stakeholders.

The objective of the workshop was to familiarize participating organizations with the PM-SETU Scheme and explore opportunities for their participation as Anchor Industry Partners (AIPs). The deliberations witnessed significant interest from PSUs and sectoral stakeholders, highlighting the growing confidence in the PM-SETU framework and its industry-led approach to skill development.

Interested organizations were encouraged to undertake internal consultations, communicate their interest in joining the initiative, and explore proposals for sector-specific courses and training interventions. The Department reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with PSUs and industry stakeholders for the effective implementation of PM-SETU in West Bengal, fostering stronger industry-academia collaboration and creating a future-ready skilled workforce.

Glimpses from the 2nd DDU-GKY 2.0 Project Approval Committee (PAC) Meeting held on 24th July 2026 at Karigari Bhawan, Kolkata.
The meeting was chaired by Shri Rajeev Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Technical Education, Training & Skill Development (TET&SD), Government of West Bengal, in the presence of Smt. Chaitali Chakrabarti, IAS, Project Director, Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development (PBSSD), along with senior officials and stakeholders.

Rojgar Mela 2026, held on 22nd July 2026 at Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium, Kolkata, celebrated the achievements of skilled youth who have successfully secured employment across diverse sectors. The event reaffirmed the Government of West Bengal's commitment to promoting skill development, enhancing employability, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for the State's youth.
