The Kolkata District Committee felicitated newly elected National Committee member Yasmin Islam.
A few months ago, the Party’s National Representative Council was held in Mangalore, Karnataka, where the new National Committee was constituted. Yasmin Islam, National President of the Women India Movement, was elected as a member of the National Committee.
At a meeting of the Kolkata District Committee held today at the State Office, Yasmin Islam was felicitated by Kolkata District President Dr. Shahid Anwar and Women India Movement Kolkata District leader Julekha Parveen on behalf of the district committee.
Among those present were SDPI State Vice President Abdul Qaiyum Khan, Secretary Sarur Alam, Treasurer Md. Aftab Alam, Kolkata District Vice President Maulana Ashraf ali Kashmi, General Secretary Akhtar Hossain, along with other district leadership members.
Addressing the gathering, Yasmin Islam said, “Women of this country are ready not only to take care of their families, but also to take responsibility for building a fear-free and hunger-free India.”
