🌸 A Student’s Dream

For our Class 4 students, learning can begin with something as simple as a sheet of colourful paper.

Through paper-cutting and creative arrangements, the students made beautiful flower vases — choosing colours, experimenting with shapes and bringing their own ideas to life. ✂️🌈

These everyday moments in school are also moments of discovery. They give children the freedom to explore what they enjoy, build confidence in their ideas and imagine what they might want to do in the future.

Because every dream needs a space to grow — with teachers who encourage it, subjects that spark curiosity and learning spaces that allow children to explore.

Support the learning spaces that help children discover their interests and build towards their dreams.

🌿 World Peace Day | 21 September

Peace is not only about the absence of conflict.
It can begin in the small moments where children learn to listen, play, explore, care for one another, and feel free to be themselves.

At KSWS, learning extends beyond the classroom — into trees, gardens, water, music, play and everyday relationships. These shared spaces give children room to discover, take decisions, be curious and grow together.

This World Peace Day, we celebrate the idea that peace is something we learn, practice and carry forward — together.

May we build spaces where every child can learn, play, wonder and belong. 🌱

Today at the Kalitala branch, we had our first Little Cinema session with Peoples Film Collective .

The children watched a series of short films, followed by conversations around the films we saw. It was a chance to spend some time engaging with stories and ideas outside the usual classroom setting.

A big thank you to the team at People’s Film Collective for bringing Little Cinema to Kalitala. Looking forward to the sessions ahead.

From Teacher to Academic Leader 🌱

In 2023, Irfan Habib joined Swapnopuron Shiksha Niketan as a Science & Mathematics Teacher. Over the years, he became more than a teacher in the classroom — building relationships with students, taking on new responsibilities, and growing alongside the school.

His journey took another step in 2026 when he was selected for the Teacher Leader Programme at Creatnet Education, Delhi. He returned with new perspectives on teaching, learning, and leadership.

Today, as Academic Manager, Irfan Sir works with teachers and students to strengthen learning across the school.

His journey shows what a teacher can become when given the space to stay, learn, lead, and grow with a community.

And that is why teachers matter at Swapnopuron. They are not only teaching subjects — they are building relationships, creating continuity, and becoming a part of their students’ journeys.

Swapnopuron is looking for more teachers who want to grow with us. 🌱

A little something for a mother this festive season. 💛

Hi everyone! I’m Satarupa Majumder. I started as a school teacher in Kolkata and went on to establish Katakhali Swapnopuron Welfare Society (KSWS) and a network of English-medium schools across the Sundarbans.

The Sundarbans is beautiful, but life here is difficult Geographical isolation, poverty, seasonal migration and climate vulnerability affect families we’ve worked alongside for years.

This festive season, we’re hoping to gift 1,000 new cotton sarees to 1,000 mothers- widows, single mothers and women from vulnerable families. Each saree costs ₹390.

Our school teams are identifying women within the communities we serve and will coordinate and document distribution, so every saree reaches its intended recipient.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported KSWS and stood by our work over the years. This campaign is another small way to extend that circle of care.
If you’d like to gift a saree, contribute, or simply know more, please DM me. You can also share this with someone who may want to be part of it.

₹390. One saree. One mother. One smile. 💛

WEAVING STORIES OF THE SUNDARBANS 🧵🌿

A stitch can hold a memory. A piece of fabric can carry a story.

Through our Women’s Livelihood Programme, women from the Sundarbans are using Kantha stitch to tell stories of their lives, communities and surroundings — the rivers, mangroves, wildlife, changing landscapes and everyday experiences that shape life in the Sundarbans.

By transforming fabric and traditional skills into meaningful work, we are working towards sustainable livelihoods while keeping local knowledge and craft practices alive.

We need your support to keep this work going.

You can contribute by donating:
• Fabrics and reusable textiles
• Threads, needles and stitching equipment
• Craft materials and tools
• Funds to support the women and their work

You can also support us through research, documentation, skill-sharing or creative collaborations.

Every contribution helps us create more opportunities for women to earn, create and tell their own stories.

Join us in weaving these stories forward. 🌿

Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi Through Learning & Creativity 🌸🐘

Ganesh Chaturthi brought colour, creativity, and learning to our classrooms at KSWS.

At the Hingalganj Branch, our UKG students explored origami by making their own paper Ganesha. With every fold and shape, they learned through doing while giving form to their imagination. 🎨

At the Kalitala Branch, students learned about the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi and took part in a colourful Ganesha colouring activity with the guidance of their teachers.

From folding paper to filling in colours, the celebrations gave our students a chance to learn about culture while creating something of their own.

A day of curiosity, creativity, and joyful learning across our classrooms. ✨

From a first-time teacher to a school leader.

When Rubel Ahamed joined Swapnopuron in 2018, he had no prior teaching experience. What brought him here was a simple belief—that children in Hingalganj deserve access to quality education and the opportunities that come with it.

Over the years, Swapnopuron became more than a workplace for Rubel. It became a place where he grew alongside the school and its students.

Today, he serves as Vice-Principal and Academic Coordinator, carrying responsibilities that go far beyond the classroom.

For Rubel, success is not just about how far he has come. It is also about how far Swapnopuron can go.

His vision is ambitious: stronger academic opportunities, better infrastructure, hostels for students, national-level opportunities in sports, and eventually a community of thousands of children who can pursue their aspirations while growing into kind and responsible individuals.

From a small beginning with just five teachers to a growing educational community across five branches, Swapnopuron’s journey continues—and so does Rubel’s.

“The journey is still underway.”

Made by Hand, Built with Skill 🧵

Behind every stitch and every carefully made handicraft is a skill being put to work.

Through KSWS’s Women’s Livelihood Programme, women are supported in developing their tailoring and handicraft skills and creating opportunities to earn through their work.

Learning. Making. Earning.

From Teacher to Principal: The Journey of Manosij Bandhopadhyay

A school leader’s journey does not always begin in an office. Sometimes, it begins in the classroom.

For Manosij Bandhopadhyay, the journey with Swapnopuron began in 2023, when he joined as an Assistant Teacher.

Just a few months later, in April 2023, he took on a new responsibility at the Main School as a Science and Mathematics Teacher. It was here that he continued to grow alongside his students — teaching, learning, understanding their needs, and becoming an integral part of the school community.

In 2024, that journey took another significant turn. From being a teacher in the classroom, Manosij Sir stepped into the role of Principal.

The transition from teacher to principal was more than a change in designation. It meant taking responsibility for the larger school community — its students, teachers, learning environment, and everyday functioning.

His journey reflects a simple but powerful idea: leadership grows from experience.

The teacher who once stood before a classroom now stands responsible for an entire school — carrying forward the same commitment to learning, while taking on a much larger responsibility.

2023 — Assistant Teacher → Science & Mathematics Teacher
2024–Present — Principal

From the classroom to the school’s leadership, this is the journey of Manosij Bandhopadhyay.
