The Customs department has announced the phased implementation of new electronic rules for sea cargo (SCMTR).
What does this mean?

From 1st September 2026, cargo documents must be filed electronically with Customs
The system will start port by port (not all at once)
No penalties during the transition period
SEZ units also get time to prepare

What should you do?

Check the port-wise schedule
Coordinate with your shipping agents & freight forwarders
Ensure your team is ready for electronic filing

Stay prepared to avoid any delay in shipments.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has integrated Customs/ICEGATE data into its portal to digitise licence-wise voluntary duty-payment details.

What this means for you:
Faster EODC Processing: Seamless Export Obligation Discharge Certificate workflow.
Paperless & Transparent: Full transparency for Advance Authorisation & EPCG holders.
Real-Time Tracking: View duty payments live on the DGFT portal.
Effective Date: 1 August 2026 (Portal records will serve as official EODC processing data for payments made on or after this date).

Important Reminder: Always ensure your correct Licence Number and IEC are entered when making payments via ICEGATE.
