We thought we were going there to give them something.
We didn’t expect to come back with something so special. 🤍

During our visit to Shishu Bhavan, the children gifted us their drawings.

Little drawings.
Little hands.
Big smiles.
And something we’ll hold onto for a long, long time. 🎨

These aren’t just pieces of paper to us.

They’re little reminders of a beautiful day, a few shared moments, and the connections we made along the way.

Some gifts are bought.
Some are made with love.
And somehow, the handmade ones stay with you. 🫶

To all the little artists who made these for us —
thank you. You made our visit unforgettable. ❤️

You don't need to be the strongest person in the room to stay safe.

You just need to notice what others don't.

Most people think self-defence begins with a punch.

It doesn't.

It begins with awareness.

The goal of self-defence isn't to win fights.

It's to avoid them whenever possible.

At Monerjyoti Foundation, we believe awareness is a life skill everyone should learn. Through Psychology Awareness, Personal Safety Education, and Self-Defence Workshops, we're helping build safer individuals and safer communities.

What if learning about mental well-being began with a game, a song, a drawing, or simply being heard? 💙

For two beautiful days, that's exactly what happened.

On 1st & 2nd August, Monerjyoti Foundation conducted "Let's Learn & Play", a Mental Health Awareness Programme at Shishu Bhavan, Babanpur, Palta.

We were honoured to be joined by Mrs. Swagata Dutta and Mr. Sukanta Kumar Mitra, whose thoughtful conversations reminded every child that their voice matters, their emotions matter, and their unique talents deserve to be celebrated.

The days unfolded with music, dance, storytelling, games, role-play, creative activities, joyful rounds of "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes," and plenty of laughter. Through play and simple real-life scenarios, children explored emotions, built confidence, expressed themselves freely, and discovered the joy of learning together.

But our favourite moments weren't on the schedule.

They were the handmade drawings carefully placed in our hands, the little gifts created with love, the children proudly sharing their talents, the friendships formed, and the smiles that needed no words.

Those are the moments we'll carry with us.

To the wonderful children of Shishu Bhavan, thank you for trusting us with your stories, your creativity, and your joy. To our respected speakers, the staff, volunteers, and everyone who made this possible—thank you for helping create a space where every child felt seen, heard, and encouraged.

This may have been a two-day programme, but the memories—and the impact—will stay with us for much longer.

We already look forward to coming back. 🌼

🤍 If you believe every child deserves a safe space to learn, play, express themselves, and simply be a child, save this post, share it, and help us spread the message.

👜 Bestie, your purse deserves an upgrade. 💛

We carry lip balm, keys, and chargers every day… but what about the things that could actually help keep us safe?

Being prepared isn't about expecting the worst—it's about giving yourself more options if something unexpected happens.

✨ Which safety essential do you already carry?

⚠️ Could your child answer these 5 simple questions?

Most children can't.

Not because they're too young... But because no one has taught them yet.

Body safety isn't a one-time conversation. It's a skill children build through calm, regular, age-appropriate discussions.

Start by asking: ✔️ Who owns your body? ✔️ What should you do if a touch feels uncomfortable? ✔️ Who are your trusted adults? ✔️ What is the Swimsuit Rule? ✔️ What if someone tells you to keep a secret?

The answers to these questions can help children understand boundaries, recognise unsafe situations, and know when to seek help.

💙 At Monerjyoti Foundation, we believe prevention begins with awareness.

Through Psychology Awareness, Personal Safety Education, and Self-Defence Workshops, we help children, parents, and schools build safer communities.

📌 Before you scroll: ❤️ Like this post if every child deserves to feel safe. 💾 Save it for future conversations. 📤 Share it with parents, teachers, caregivers, and schools. 💬 Comment: Which of these five questions do you think every child should know first?

One conversation today could make a lifelong difference.

Healing begins when silence ends.

Not every wound is visible.
Not every struggle is spoken.
Yet millions of people carry emotional pain behind a smile every single day.

Mental health is just as important as physical health.
It deserves care, understanding, and compassion, not judgment or stigma.

Speaking up is not weakness.
Asking for help is not failure.
Supporting someone can be the first step towards healing.

A simple conversation.
A kind word.
A moment of empathy.

These small acts can make a life-changing difference.

This Mental Health Awareness Program was conducted by MONERJYOTI FOUNDATION at Mejhia Girls' High School, with the aim of promoting emotional well-being, breaking the stigma, and encouraging open conversations about mental health.

Let's continue to raise awareness.
Let's continue to break the stigma.
Let's continue to create a world where every person feels heard, valued, and supported.

💚 Every conversation matters. Every life matters.

💬 Tell us in the comments: What does mental well-being mean to you?

Awareness brings hope. Compassion brings healing.

She went out for a birthday gift. She never made it home.

One more child. One more family forever changed. One more reminder that child safety cannot wait.

Justice is essential. Prevention is our shared responsibility.

Awareness, open conversations, and self-defence education can save lives. Every child deserves to grow up feeling safe.

At Monerjyoti Foundation, we are committed to raising awareness, promoting mental well-being, and empowering communities through self-defence and safety education.

🕯️ For every child we've lost, let this be more than grief—let it be a promise to protect those who are still with us.

How many more?

Two years have passed since the Tilottoma case.

Today, another heartbreaking incident in Baruipur forces us to ask the same painful question:
How many more women must suffer before safety becomes a reality, not just a promise?

The names may change. The places may change.
But the fear remains.

Women's safety cannot depend only on laws, systems, or the hope that violence won't happen. We need awareness. We need confidence. And we need practical self-defense skills.

Self-defense is not about fighting.
It is not about living in fear.
It is about being prepared, recognizing danger early, and having the confidence to protect yourself when every second counts.

Every woman deserves the freedom to walk, study, work, and live without fear.

The conversation cannot end here.
Let's continue to educate. Let's continue to empower. Let's continue to stand together—until every woman feels safe.

💬 Tell us in the comments: Do you think self-defense education should be taught to every girl from a young age?

📌 Save this post. 📤 Share it with someone who believes safety is a right, not a privilege.

Awareness saves lives. Empowerment changes lives.
