Why in spite of the fact we Indians supply the most hard working and intelligent brains we as a nation still lag behind as a community as a nation.
The answer lies in our philosophy. Forgiveness which made us a nation with weakness.
We forgive corrupt politicians: Convicted and punished leaders regularly return to office because the public tolerates their wrongdoing.
We forgive reckless crimes: When a wealthy teenager kills innocent people in a drunk driving crash, bail is granted immediately, and the public moves on.
We forgive heinous offenders: Serious criminals exploit legal delays, repeatedly securing bail and walking free.
We normalize law-breaking: Ordinary citizens justify breaking daily rules by pointing out that politicians get away with worse crimes.
We waste public resources on indecision: Hundreds of convicts on death row age in prison on taxpayers' money.
That is why some toughest exam crackers expect cheating is their right.
When a society tolerates wrongdoing without strict enforcement, weakness becomes the norm, and corruption follows.
