On the occasion of "Rashtriya Poshan Pakhwada 2026" ( 9th April 2026 - 23rd April 2026 ), an Awareness programme was organised by *National Homoeopathic Research Institute in Mental Health Kottayam* at OPD Waiting area of NHRIMH on 25/04/2026. Dr. Indrajith. S, Yoga therapist discussed about the Role of Yoga in Early Brain stimulation in young Children and demonstrated yoga techniques helping in improving cognition and concentration in Childern. National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health, Kottayam. Is conducted a training for educates its IPD staff for better patient care on 24/04/2026.
The programme started with a welcome address by Smt.Sudha PJ, Sister in Charge. Felicitation address was given by Dr R Bhuvaneswari, RO/S-3, Professor and HOD and Principal Dr.R.Sitharthan. Inaugural address was delivered by Dr.Debadetta Nayak, Asst. Director [H], Officer-in-Charge.
The training program was delivered by Professor Sr.Jeslin Mary SH Vice principal, Thiruhrudaya College of nursing. She delivered an insightful session on the effective management of violent patients, emphasizing the importance of proper documentation and attentive listening to patients concerns. She also highlighted the need for self-protection among healthcare staff and encouraged treating patients with compassion and care.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs.Manju Rajeev, Nursing Officer. Overall the session was highly informative and enriched the participants with knowledge for improving psychiatric care.

This two-day session, chaired by Dr. N. Radhakrishnan, focuses on the rigorous ethical review of cutting-edge clinical trials and research protocols.

Clinical Trials by PG Scholars (2025-2028) : Full reviews of 21 new protocols exploring treatments for conditions like Cancer pain, Allergic Rhinitis, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Schizophrenia.

Study Completion Reports (2023-2026) : Reviewing the results of 24 completed studies on topics ranging from Psoriatic Arthritis and Chronic Gastritis to Alcohol Dependence and Intellectual Disabilities.

RO Protocol Reviews: Specialized sessions on the effect of alcohol-based medicines on breath analyzer tests and the management of Primary Hypothyroidism and PCOS.

As part of the Observance of Homoeopathy Week 2026, competitions such as Debate, Essay Writing, Reels Making, and Chart Exhibition were conducted at NHRIMH, Kottayam. A valedictory function was held on 07/04/2026 at 4:30 PM in the Committee Room, during which prizes were distributed to all the winners by the Officer-in-Charge (OIC).

NHRIMH, under CCRH, organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) from April 6-8, 2026. The inaugural session, held at the committee room, was graced by Chief Guest and Officer-in-Charge Dr. Debadatta Nayak. External observer Dr. Sajith Kumar, Visiting Professor at ASC KUHS, Thrissur, Principal NHRIMH Dr. Sitharthan, and FDP Coordinator Dr. M. Gnnanaprakasham, Associate Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry, NHRIMH, Kottayam, also participated.

The program aimed to impart comprehensive knowledge on Medical Education Technology, aligning with the National Education Policy and NCH regulations. The inaugural session was followed by interactive sessions on foundational concepts of medical education, assessments, and group activities.

Resource persons included Dr. Ramjyothis, HoD & Professor, Dept. of Hom. Pharmacy, and FDP-trained faculty from NHRIMH: Dr. Sitharthan, Dr. Gnnanaprakasham, Dr. Binuraj, Dr. Jayasree Janagam, and Dr. Sreeja K.R. The program was monitored by KUHS-nominated External Observer Dr. Sajith Kumar, Academic Staff College, Kerala University of Health Science, Thrissur. In connection with the observance of Homoeopathy Week 2026, a “Walk for Homoeopathy” was conducted by NHRIMH on 4 April 2026 at 3:30 PM. The programme witnessed active participation from the Officer-in-Charge, Principal, Research Officers, faculty members, students, and other staff, who carried banners and placards reflecting the spirit of Homoeopathy and its gentle nature of cure.

As a part of this ,a Chart Exhibition Competition was conducted in the Committee Room on the theme “Epidemic Management: Constitutional Demography.” Post Graduate Trainees participated in the competition, presenting informative and creative charts highlighting the role of Homoeopathy in epidemic management and the concept of constitutional demography.

A significant milestone in Homoeopathic research!!!
A Study-Based Agreement for the project titled “Analysis of Silica Nanoparticles in Homoeopathic Medicines and Exploring Their Role as Carriers of Homoeopathic Medicines” was signed on 24th March 2026 between Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General, Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), and Dr. Sandhya Rani, Dean (Research & Consultancy), National Institute of Technology Calicut. Prof. Sunitha M S, Dean (Faculty and Staff Welfare), NITC were also present during the function.

The project brings together scientific expertise from NIT and NHRIMH to explore one of the fundamental aspects of Homoeopathic medicines through advanced nanoscientific approaches.

An observation visit for 7th-semester (4th-year) BSc Nursing students from St. Thomas College of Nursing, Chethipuzha, Changassery, was held at the National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health (NHRIMH), Kottayam, on March 26, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

A total of 65 nursing students, accompanied by faculty, attended the visit.

Dr. Debadatta Nayak, Assistant Director (H)/Officer-in-Charge, NHRIMH, Kottayam, addressed the group.

Dr. Sivakumar K, Research Officer (H)/Scientist-1, NHRIMH, Kottayam, coordinated the event.

Dr. Indrajith (Yoga Therapist), Arun Nair (Medico-Social Worker), and Mrs. Santha Merin (Speech Therapist) presented details on therapy services.
