As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2026 and the commemoration of 150 glorious years of “Vande Mataram” (Phase-III), District Administration Kulgam is organizing a Tiranga Bike Rally on 11 August 2026.

All youth and citizens of the district are warmly invited to participate in large numbers and celebrate the spirit of the Tricolour, patriotism and national pride. 🇮🇳🏍️

Participants are requested to reach the assembly point by 3:00 PM with their bikes decorated with the National Flag. Flags will also be made available at the venue.

DC Kulgam chairs Training Programme on AgriStack Module

KULGAM, JULY 07:

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam today chaired a meeting-cum-training programme at the Auditorium-cum-New Conference Hall, Kulgam, to review the implementation of the AgriStack Module and to build the capacity of the field functionaries associated with the programme.

The training programme was attended by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kulgam, Girdawars, Patwaris, and other concerned field functionaries from across the district.

During the programme, the nominated Master Trainer, Qaimoh, Mohd. Zakir Mir, imparted detailed training on the AgriStack Module. He explained the entire process of data entry and verification, particularly the Khewat-wise workflow, through practical demonstrations. The Master Trainer also screened instructional videos and elaborated on the various features and functionalities of the module to ensure that all field functionaries acquire a clear understanding of the application and its effective implementation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining accuracy, transparency, and timely completion of all activities under the AgriStack initiative. He directed all field functionaries to work in close coordination and ensure that the assigned tasks are completed meticulously within the stipulated timeline. He further stressed that no laxity or delay would be tolerated and instructed the officers and officials to extend full cooperation for the successful implementation of the programme.

The participants also interacted with the Master Trainer and clarified their queries regarding different aspects of the module, making the training programme informative and productive.

DDC Kulgam Reviews Progress of Works and Employment Generation under MGNREGA

KULGAM, JUNE 10:

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam (IAS), today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of works and performance under the MGNREGA scheme in the district.

The meeting was attended by CPO, ACD Kulgam, all Block Development Officers (BDOs), MIS Operators and Technical Assistants.

During the meeting, the DDC Kulgam conducted a detailed review of the ex*****on of works, employment generation, quality of assets being created and overall implementation of the MGNREGA Scheme across all blocks of the district.

Emphasizing transparency and accountability, the DDC Kulgam directed the functionaries of Rural Development Department Kulgam to ensure that only genuine and deserving job card holders are engaged under the programme and that employment opportunities are provided strictly in accordance with prescribed guidelines, without any duplicity or violation of norms.

The DDC Kulgam further stressed the need for the inclusion of persons with disabilities (PwDs) in the scheme and directed officers to encourage their active participation wherever feasible. He also underscored the importance of women empowerment and instructed BDOs to motivate and facilitate the participation of women, particularly those above the age of 40 years, in various permissible activities under the scheme.

Highlighting the significance of durable community assets, DDC directed all concerned officers to ensure that the quality of works and assets created under the programme remains of the highest standard and that all works are executed strictly as per technical specifications.

He also instructed the ACD Kulgam and BDOs to undertake regular field inspections to monitor the progress and quality of works. He also stated that he would personally conduct frequent inspections of worksites to ensure effective implementation and adherence to guidelines.

Arrangements for Mela Kheer Bhawani Reviewed by DC Kulgam

KULGAM, June 4

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today chaired a comprehensive meeting with officers to review and finalize the arrangements for the smooth conduct of Mela Kheer Bhawani at Manzgam and Mata Tripur Sundari, Khanbarni, Devsar.

The meeting focused on key aspects including security arrangements, availability of essentials, accommodation facilities, traffic management, medical services, sanitation, and uninterrupted power and water supply.

DC Kulgam emphasized the importance of ensuring that all necessary facilities are in place to enable devotees to perform religious rituals with ease and comfort. He directed officers from KPDCL and Jal Shakti to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply at both locations during the Mela.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was instructed to establish medical camps at both sites. Executive Officers (EOs) were directed to ensure proper sanitation, while the ARTO and traffic authorities were asked to put in place a smooth and efficient traffic management plan.

Additionally, concerned departments were instructed to install solar lighting at the venues. The R&B Department was directed to make arrangements for spacious and waterproof tents to accommodate devotees.

Highlighting the need for coordinated efforts, the DC stressed the importance of close inter-departmental coordination to ensure the Mela is conducted smoothly and efficiently.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Additional SP, JD-PlanningACR, Tehsildas,Executive Engineers Jal Shakti,R&B,EOs and other officers besides the president and members of management committee attended the meeting.
