Shri Irfan Ali Shah, IFS, Conservator of Forests, North Circle Kashmir, visited the Kumkadi area of Pathra Block in Keran Range, Kehmil Forest Division.
During the visit, the sir interacted warmly with the school children, encouraging them to dream big, believe in themselves, and aspire towards a bright future.
The Conservator also met senior Army officers and held discussions on various forest protection and management related issues in the area and the way forward for strengthening coordinated efforts for safeguarding the forest landscape.
The CF North was accompanied by the DFO Kamraj, DFO Kehmil, Range Officer Kupwara, and officers and field staff of Kamraj and Kehmil Forest Divisions and the Forest Protection Force.

A warm and memorable gathering was organized today by the employees of Kehmil Forest Division to bid a heartfelt farewell to Range Officer Ramhal, Javid Sahib, and to welcome the officers taking charge of their new assignments.
The gathering was graced by the presence of the worthy DFO Dr. Faisal Farooq Sahib, Range Officers,Block Forest Officers and other employees of the Division.
On the occasion, the Range Officer Keran assumed the charge of NH Range, while as the Range Officer Kernah assumed the charge of Ramhal Range.
Mr. Javid Sahib was especially appreciated for his sincere service, professionalism, dedication, and respectful conduct throughout his tenure. His approachable nature, cooperation with employees, and commitment to departmental responsibilities earned him great respect and goodwill among the officers and employees. His contribution to the smooth functioning of the Range will always be remembered and appreciated.
The gathering was marked by respect, warmth, and professional camaraderie, making it a memorable occasion for everyone present.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Javid Sahib for his valuable services and wish him continued success, good health, and prosperity in his future assignment.

The Conservator of Forests, Kashmir North Circle, along with his team, conducted inspection of the CAMPA works executed during the year 2025-26 in Kehmil Forest Division. During the inspection, on site guidance and recommendations were provided to the field functionaries for enhancing the effectiveness and quality of afforestation and reforestation interventions, with a view to strengthen the degraded forest land rehabilitation efforts and promoting a greener and more sustainable future.

A meeting chaired by the Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir, was convened today on 10-06-2026 to review the waste management practices in Bangus Valley and to discuss the preparation of a comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for the ecologically sensitive destination.
The meeting was attended by the Conservator of Forests, Kashmir North Circle, the Chief Executive Officer LBDDA, the Divisional Forest Officer, Langate Forest Division, the Divisional Forest Officer, Kehmil Forest Division, Range Officers of Ramhall and Mawer Ranges and Technical Officers Office of the Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir.

🌲🌲🌱 World Environment Day 2026 Celebrated at Kehmil Forest Division 🌱🌲🌲
World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Kehmil Forest Division. The programme witnessed active participation from officers, officials, students,teachers, and members of the local community.
On the occasion, awareness activities were organized to highlight the importance of environmental conservation, forest protection, and sustainable living. A quiz competition was also conducted to enhance environmental awareness among participants and encourage learning about nature, biodiversity, and conservation.
The event served as a platform to inspire collective action towards protecting our environment and building a greener future for generations to come.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir, to comprehensively review the implementation and operationalisation of the Standard Operating Procedures on Forest Protection and the Standard Operating Guidelines on Forest Fire Management and Mitigation in respect of Kehmil Forest Division.
