Let’s stay safe and support each other during emergencies! 🙏

✅ Stay calm and follow official updates from Administration.
✅If crack or unusual sound is heard, vacate the place and inform local authorities immediately.
✅ Keep an emergency kit ready – mobile with full charge, flashlight, first aid, dry food, water.
✅Keep important documents and cash in a single waterproof pouches.
✅ Move to higher ground during landslides or floods.
✅ Help children, elderly, and differently-abled persons first.
✅ Use a whistle or torchlight to signal for help if trapped.

🚨 Public Notice: Road Update for Darjeeling District 🚨

Due to massive rainfall on 5th October 2025, a section of Rohini Road has collapsed. Repair work is currently underway by Kurseong Engineering Division, GTA.

For now, the emergency small vehicles like ambulances or school vans use the alternative route via Gaurishankar By- pass Road Kurseong from today.

We request to drive carefully and follow traffic advisories.

🚧 Update on Dudhia Iron Bridge Reconstruction 🚧

On 05.10.2025, the Dudhia Bridge suffered a breakdown, due to massive rainfall in Darjeeling district, affecting connectivity and local travel.

Hon’ble Chief Minister visited the site on 07.10.2025 and assured the people that an alternative bridge will be reconstructed at the earliest to restore smooth transportation.

We are glad to share that the Public Works Department (PWD) has already taken up this as an ongoing project, and reconstruction work is progressing with full effort.

🚨 Official Update: Rescue and Relief Operation Following Landslide 🚨

A landslide occurred on 05.10.2025, causing damage to five houses in the affected area.
All affected families have been safely rescued and shifted to the relief camp at Tekbir B***y of Kurseong Municipality Ward no. II.

🫱 Relief materials including rice, grocery, DM kits, blankets, clothings and Tarpaulins, and essential supplies have been distributed to the victims.
🛠️ Restoration work has been initiated by Disaster Management & Civil Defence Section, Forest Department, and Fire Service to cut down the vulnerable tilted trees and restore normalcy at the earliest by bamboo piling work.

Authorities are continuously monitoring the situation and providing necessary support to the affected residents.

We urge everyone to stay alert and follow safety instructions issued by the administration.

🚧 Official Notice: Landslide on Rohini Road 🚧

A landslip occurred on 05.10.2025 along the Rohini Road near Gaurishankar Tea Garden (Bypass) due to massive rainfall in Kurseong, resulting in a temporary road closure.

🛠️ Repair and restoration work has been resumed by the Kurseong Engineering Division, GTA to clear the debris and to restore normal traffic movement at the earliest.

Commuters are requested to avoid the affected route and use alternative roads until further notice.
