Strengthening Nursing & Health Workforce Education at ABVMUUP

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University and Jhpiego India have come together through a Joint Implementation Plan to advance competency-based, digitally enabled Nursing and health workforce education in Uttar Pradesh.

Envisioned as a system-level partnership, this collaboration aims to strengthen the quality of nursing education and enhance workforce preparedness across the state. Key focus areas include competency-based education, faculty excellence, simulation and VR-enabled learning, and the development of modular and lifelong learning pathways.

These efforts are supported by data-driven quality improvement, robust academic governance, regulatory alignment, and a strong emphasis on institutional sustainability.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to modernizing education systems and building a future-ready, resilient health workforce for Uttar Pradesh.

1st Convocation of Atal Bihari Medical University, UP, Lucknow, was held today on 4th September, 2025 at the auditorium of University. The convocation was presided over and blessed by Hon’ble Chancellor and Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel ji. Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and cabinet minister Medical Education Sri. Brajesh Pathak ji, was Chief Guest and State Minister, Medical Education Sri Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh was the Guest of Honour. 74 Gold and Silver medals and 8526 degrees were awarded to students of Nursing, Dental, Medical and Paramedical disciplines at the convocation.
