On the occasion of PIU held a plantation drive at various locations including Kallagam-Meensurutti and Tiruchi-Kallagam sections of NH-81, Salem-Ulundurpet section of NH-79, and Tindivanam-Ulundurpet section of NH-45. Students of Industrial Training Institute, Vadukapatti, Tiruchi participated in the event themed Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. A total of 400 saplings of neem, jamun, pungan, mahogany, peepal, poovarasan, mango and kottika were planted, reinforcing NHAI’s commitment to develop sustainable highways.

Kollidam River bridge on the Cauvery is the longest 4-lane bridge over a river in Tamil Nadu. It remains busy throughout the year. Everyday, 12,000 cars pass over the bridge that connects and districts. A segment of the East Coast Road corridor on the Chennai-Nagapattinam corridor of NH-32, the bridge has reduced travel time and eased traffic congestion in the two districts it serves.
