SWIFT ACTION: Cracks ₹1.5 Crore Mobile Theft Case in Just 6 Days

Special teams conducted an extensive investigation across Jharkhand, Nagpur and West Bengal and arrested five accused before the stolen property could be smuggled across the Bangladesh border.

A total of 195 mobile phones and 5 Apple iPads were recovered. The investigation revealed that the interstate gang was targeting major mobile phone showrooms and transporting the stolen devices towards Bangladesh and Nepal.

Sri Harish Kumar Gupta, IPS, appreciated the Tirupati Police team for cracking the Sono Vision theft case within six days and recovering stolen property worth ₹1.5 crore.

🚨Prompt response to a Dial-112 alert saves a life –

Upon receiving information through the Dial-112 Control Room that a person was attempting su***de from the Maddur Lanka Bridge under the limits of Kovvur Rural Police Station in East Godavari District, the Kovvur Rural Police immediately rushed to the spot.

Displaying exceptional alertness, professionalism, and presence of mind, the police personnel safely rescued the individual and prevented the su***de attempt, thereby saving a precious life.

During preliminary enquiry, the rescued individual disclosed only that he belongs to Madhya Pradesh. He is currently under the care and protection of the police. Efforts are underway to establish his identity, trace his family members, and inform them accordingly.

🏅 Andhra Pradesh Police Win 11 Medals at the 11th All India Police Games–2026 🇮🇳

The Andhra Pradesh Police delivered an outstanding performance at the 11th All India Police Games–2026, organized by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and held in Hyderabad from 23rd to 30th July 2026, securing a total of 11 medals.

Seizes 78 Red Sanders Logs Worth ₹1.5 Crore

Acting on credible intelligence received by the Task Force and State Intelligence teams, the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) conducted vehicle checks near Jyothigudi–Varikuntla village in Avadhoota Kasinayana Mandal of Kadapa district.

During the operation, the team intercepted a Bolero Maxi Truck (Container) transporting Red Sanders logs under the guise of household goods. Two interstate smugglers, Sunny and Ramesh, both from Haryana, were apprehended.

The police seized 78 Red Sanders logs worth approximately ₹1.5 crore, along with the Bolero Maxi Truck used for transportation.

During the investigation, Forest Beat Officer (FBO) Mallikarjuna, posted at Jyothi Forest Beat, was found to have assisted the smugglers and was subsequently arrested.

DGP Shri Harish Kumar Gupta, IPS, congratulated the officers and personnel of the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) for successfully seizing Red Sanders logs worth ₹1.5 crore and dismantling an interstate smuggling operation.

Extensive security arrangements are in place for Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's visit to inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram on August 1. Shri Harish Kumar Gupta, IPS, reviewed the security preparations, inspected key locations including the airport terminal, public meeting venue, and parking areas, and directed officials to ensure foolproof security, seamless traffic management, anti-sabotage checks, and close coordination with SPG. Nearly 5,000 police personnel will be deployed to ensure a safe, secure, and smooth event for the expected gathering of around 2 lakh people.

The Coastal Security Police warmly welcomed 22 IPS Officer Trainees (78th RR Batch) from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad, as part of their Specialized Maritime Security Module.

₹10 Crore Gold Loan Scam Busted: Arrests Accused, Recovers Gold Worth ₹5.81 Crore

An accused working as a Gold Appraiser at the Bank of Baroda branch in Jangareddygudem allegedly misappropriated gold ornaments pledged by customers as collateral and replaced them with fake jewellery and other materials.

The investigation revealed that 6.449 kg of gold, valued at approximately ₹10 crore, had been misappropriated.

Further investigation established that the accused had sold and pledged the stolen gold at various jewellery shops in Jangareddygudem using his own name as well as the names of his parents.

The accused was arrested, and recovered ₹10,00,000 in cash along with 4.120 kg of gold from various jewellery shops. The total value of the recovered cash and gold is estimated at ₹5.81 crore.
