ety of programs, It is conducted every year on March 3. The temple name is Kunnathu Kavu. The area was inhibited by aristrocratic Nair, Guptan, Christian and Muslim families, living in harmonious, without any known community clashes, since the post independent days. Agriculture was the main income and the rice cultivation was possible thrice an year. The summer crop called "Puncha" had enough water available in the ponds and river. But rice cultivation is decreasing every year due to non-availability of traditional agriculture workers. Robust Banana (Nentra pazham) crop is another popular crop in this area. Most of the paddy fields converted into small housing plots. Migration of Christians from Travancore because of lower land prices for the fertile non-paddy land comparing to south Kerala, found pick up in agriculture other than paddy i.e. Cocunut, betulnut, Rubber, tapioca, pepper etc. are now cultivated at large scale hence there is no barren land available. A good number of families have some one in other parties of the country or in the middle east and their remittance keeps the money market live. Not much of a development taken place since independence. There are scope for setting up of small and medium industries. Petrol pump, super speciality hospital, arts and science college, engineering college are some of the few projects people in this are looking at.
