📱 LOST MOBILE PHONE SUCCESSFULLY RECOVERED BY MELLI POLICE STATION THROUGH CEIR PORTAL

Melli Police Station is pleased to inform the public that one lost mobile phone has been successfully traced and recovered through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) Portal.

The mobile phone was traced to Alipurduar/Jalpaiguri District, West Bengal, and was successfully recovered. The recovered phone has been handed over to its rightful owner after completing all necessary legal formalities.

Melli Police Station encourages all citizens to immediately report lost or stolen mobile phones through the CEIR Portal or by approaching the nearest police station. Prompt reporting greatly enhances the chances of recovery.

Melli Police Station would like to express its sincere appreciation to NK Kharananda Sharma Prakash Acharya and team for his continuous and dedicated efforts in tracing the lost mobile phone.

📢 Cyber Fraud Awareness Programme at 26-Mellidara Pakyong GPU 🚔💻

As part of Cyber Fraud Awareness Month, observed under the directions of the DGP, Sikkim, SHO/Melli Police Station PI Sher Bahadur Manger conducted a comprehensive cybercrime awareness programme during the Gram Sabha organised by 26-Mellidara Pakyong GPU.

The programme was attended by the Zilla Panchayat Member, Panchayat Members, officials from various line departments, and members of the general public.

The gathering was sensitised about the latest cyber frauds, their modus operandi, and the essential do’s and don’ts to stay safe online. Awareness was also imparted on drug abuse and trafficking, the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the importance of seizure witnesses during investigations, and the vital role of responsible citizens in curbing the drug menace.

The participants were further encouraged to constitute Anti-Drug Committees in all seven wards to strengthen community participation in building a safer and drug-free society.

Melli Police Station is pleased to inform the general public that Master Chittiz Limboo (16 years), who had been reported missing, has been traced safely.

The successful tracing of the missing child was made possible through the tireless and dedicated efforts of the Investigating Officer, SI Harka Bahadur Rai, the Melli Police Station team and the valuable support extended by Namchi Police.

Melli Police Station sincerely thanks everyone who shared our public appeal and provided support during the search. Your cooperation and prompt sharing of information played an important role in helping us reunite the child with his family.

Community Policing in Action | Melli Police Station

As part of our ongoing community policing initiative, Melli Police Station conducted a public awareness programme during the Gram Sabha organized by the Sukrabarey–Suntaley GPU at Sadam Senior Secondary School Auditorium Hall.

The public was sensitized on cyber crime prevention, drug abuse, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other new criminal laws, along with the importance of community participation in maintaining law and order. Citizens were also informed about the Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930 and ERSS – 112 for timely reporting of emergencies and cyber frauds.

We are pleased to share that the Sukrabarey–Suntaley GPU has resolved to allocate funds for the construction of the newly notified Police Outpost, reinforcing the commitment towards enhancing public safety and policing infrastructure.

Together, let’s build a safer, drug-free and cyber-safe society.
