ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸੈਂਸਰ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਸਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲੜਾ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ 'ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਫਿਲਮ 'ਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਕਟੌਤੀਆਂ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਫਿਲਮ ਪੰਜਾਬ 95 (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰਾ) ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਜਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਤ ਹੈ। ਸਿੱਖ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਾ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੈਂਸਰ ਬੋਰਡ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਰਾਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਅੱਤਿਆਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹੱਤਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਕੜੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਇਹ ਵੀ ਨਿੰਦਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਮਾਪਦੰਡ ਵਰਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸੇ ਸੈਂਸਰ ਬੋਰਡ ਨੇ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਪੰਡਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ 'ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਫਾਈਲ' ਨੂੰ ਸੈਂਸਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਮੁਨਾਸਿਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੋਰਡ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਖਪਾਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਸੈਂਸਰ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਹੇ ਗਏ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੱਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਲ ਫਿਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਸੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਦ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ।

The SAD condemns the legal murder of biopic on late Sardar Jaswant Singh Khalra through massive cuts imposed by Censor Board of India. These restrictions have reportedly killed its spirit as well as the theme.
The film Punjab 95 (earlier titled Ghallughara) highlights State repression against a human rights activist and is based on court documents. The Sikh community is perturbed that the censor board is seeking to whitewash the atrocities committed by the State against an activist who was collecting data of extra-judicial killings.
It is also condemnable that different yardsticks are used when dealing with films associated with the Sikh community and their anguish. The same Censor Board did not feel it fit to censor the Kashmir Files which speaks about the agony of Kashmiri Pandits. This gives the impression that the Board is biased in its outlook towards minority communities.
SAD demands withdrawal of all cuts suggested by the Censor Board and release of the original film to ensure the truth and pain of the community is not suppressed.
