Mughalsarai city Mughalsarai is a city and a municipal board in Chandauli district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Located around 10 kilometres from Varanasi.

Located around 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Varanasi, it is an important railway junction of the Indian Railways. Once, it enjoyed the position of the largest railway marshalling yard of Asia. Road in two parts. The northern part mainly consists of railway colonies like (Vasant Vihar),New Central Colony, Diesel Colony, Haper Colony, Loco Colony and Roza Colony, Plant-Depot Colony. The southern part consists of residential areas like Galla Mandi, Eastern Bazar, Kasab Mohal, Western Bazar, New Mahal, Lot no. 2, Hanumanpur, Kali Mahal, Ravi Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Patel Nagar, Kailashpuri, Parahupur and Pathra. The eastern part consists of railway colonies like the Indian institute colony (where the railway stadium is situated), Shashtri Colony, R.P.F. Colony, Manas Nagar Colony. The Mughalsarai Railway Division belongs to East Central Railway (ECR) Zone of the Indian Railway. About 125+ passenger trains pass from Mughalsarai Junction. The Divisional Rail Manager (DRM) office of Mughalsarai Division is situated here. At Mughalsarai Junction, two important railway lines meet: Main Line (Delhi–Kanpur–Allahabad–Patna–Howrah) and Detour Line (Delhi–Moradabad–Bareilly–Lucknow–Varanasi––Howrah). Mughal Sarai is on National Highway No. 2,which is very well connected to other cities of India. Mughalsarai is located 667 kilometres (414 mi) far from Kolkata by road.
