As part of the prestigious “Arrive-Alive” Road Safety Awareness Program organized by the Telangana Police Department, a road safety awareness event was conducted today at the CAFED School premises in Venkatapuram by the Venkatapuram Circle Police. The Chief Guest of the program was ASP of Eturunagaram, Mr. Manan Bhatt, who addressed the gathering.
On this occasion, the ASP emphasized that auto drivers and car drivers must drive their vehicles with utmost care and responsibility. He stated that drivers have the responsibility to safely transport passengers who trust them to reach their destinations. He also stressed that everyone must strictly follow traffic rules to prevent road accidents.
He specifically warned that driving under the influence of alcohol should be strictly avoided. He mentioned that accidents caused by drunk driving lead to irreparable loss to the victims and their families. Therefore, he urged every vehicle driver to act responsibly and contribute to road safety.
As part of the program, messages from victims who had previously suffered in road accidents were also played, helping people better understand the importance of road safety through their real-life experiences.
The ASP also explained that the first hour after a road accident is called the “Golden Hour.” If the injured victims are taken to the hospital immediately during this time, their chances of survival increase significantly. He further informed that under the “Good Samaritan” scheme introduced by the Central Government, a person who helps transport accident victims to the hospital will receive a cash incentive of ₹25,000.
During the program, helmets were distributed to press and media representatives who attended the event. Additionally, sports kits were provided to volleyball teams present at the program to encourage sportsmanship among youth.
The program was attended by Venkatapuram CI Muthyam Ramesh, Venkatapuram SI K. Tirupathi Rao, Wazeedu SI J. Satish, Peruru SI G. Krishna Prasad, PSIs G. Tirupathi Reddy and M. Sai Krishna, along with police staff, media representatives, political leaders, and auto union drivers from Wazeedu and Venkatapuram.
