Being an Indian is a feeling we cultivate in our kids since childhood. A feeling of belongingness and responsibility along with the privileges we enjoy.

It's been a while and we have been quiet. But here we are to celebrate the biggest occassion of the year, our 75th Independence Day - Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

We at Kidfinity have decided to contribute to the celebrations by encouraging our kids to pledge little eco-friendly changes to make India better.

These little revolutionaries can make either or all of the following pledges:
- I will carry my own cutlery (spoon, fork and straw) everywhere. I will not use the disposable ones - plastic or wooden
- I will not throw any garbage on the road or any other place than the dustbin
- I will use minimum water while brushing, bathing and washing hands (not running water when brushing or using soap)
- I will not waste paper. I will use paper mindfully and use more reusable surfaces for drawing and writing. I will not use tissue paper at all, unless emergencies.

We would be thrilled if you could join us.
- Make a video of your child taking one or all of the Kidfinity pledge
(Explain the child that it is promise to the country and that they have to follow it)
- Post it here and tag us or send it to us and we'll post it and tag you.
- Follow our page

We'll choose one best video amongst all and give an appreciation gift.

All participants who upload the pledge video and tag us will get a flat 10% discount on our membership plans.

The winner will be chosen by us on overall aesthetics. Kidfinity will have the final say in deciding the winner. This campaign is run solely by Kidfinity.

Summer is here and so are the holidays. Kidfinity is back with it's fun with learning session for this Summer. We have a 2 - day workshop planned all around Summer, colours and enjoyment. Colour Symbolism

The world has a specific meaning for almost every colour we have. For example, red is for love, white is for peace, blue for trust, etc.

However, kids are a world in themselves. So expecting them to make sense of the colours as per the world's understanding might be a little confusing for them. So, we at Kidfinity believe that we must encourage children to understand the colours and their world as per their interest and liking.

The advantage is, this excercise will help you to understand your kids better.

Science of Colour Culture

Holi is celebrated during the month of Phalgun of the Indian calander. This is the time when winter season goes and we welcome the spring season (or summer as in India).

During this transaction, there is a growth sprut of bacterias in the human body as well as in the environment. The Holika Dahan or the bonfire was a way to purify the atmosphere—when we take the circle around the same to offer respect (parikrama).

As for Dhulandi, originally, colour were made with natural ingredients thus helping us in immunity and other aspects. Play of water was to keep the body cool and helps absorption of colour nutrients through skin.

It just goes on to show how well researched and scientific our festivals are.

Colour Culture

The festival of colours - Holi is celebrated over 2 days, Holi and Dhulandi. On the first day, we burn a pyre of wood and leaves as the evil Holika (the bad within) and celebrate the love of hod for her/his devotees. Lord Vishne came to the rescue of his ardent devotee, Pralhad when the demons tried to harm him.

Dhulandi or Dhuleti is celebrated on the second day which started as a mischief by naughty little Krishna. Krishna was blue hued while Radha was fair in colour. Once Krishna wanted to tease Radha and decided to smear her with colour so as to match their colours. They then danced and played in the river. Thus these Holi celebrations are a means for joy and fun.
