The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai, held the Wonderful Indonesia Sales Mission 2026 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, on 11 June 2026.

The event aimed to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a leading destination in the Indian market and open wider B2B cooperation opportunities with tourism industry partners in Hyderabad.

The Sales Mission brought together 20 Indonesian tourism industry players, including DMCs, travel agents/tour operators, restaurants, tourist attractions, and accommodation providers, engaging directly with local tourism buyers.

The program was officially opened by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia, the Consul General of Indonesia in Mumbai, and the Chairman of TAAI Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Chapter. In his remarks, the Consul General of Indonesia in Mumbai highlighted the growing potential of the Indian market and the importance of strengthening tourism cooperation between Indonesia and India.

Through this Sales Mission, Indonesia continues to expand tourism partnerships, strengthen industry networks, and promote quality, inclusive, and sustainable tourism growth.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, Mumbai held a productive meeting with the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) on 11 June 2026 in Hyderabad to explore opportunities for strengthening Indonesia–India trade and investment relations, with particular focus on enhancing economic cooperation between Indonesia and the State of Telangana.

During the interaction, discussions were held on expanding bilateral trade, promoting investments, supporting MSMEs, and identifying opportunities in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, medical devices, logistics, manufacturing, commodities, and the creative economy. The meeting also provided an opportunity to engage directly with FTCCI members and exchange views on business opportunities and challenges in both markets.

The Consulate highlighted Indonesia’s growing creative economy sector and promoted upcoming initiatives including Jakarta-Mumbai Update (JaMU) 2026, the World Congress on Creative Economy 2026 in Jakarta, and Trade Expo Indonesia 2026. Members were encouraged to participate in these platforms to strengthen business linkages and explore new partnerships with Indonesian counterparts.

The discussions reaffirmed the shared commitment of both sides to facilitate greater business-to-business engagement, promote two-way trade and investments, and build stronger economic ties between Indonesia and Telangana for mutual growth and prosperity.

On 4 June 2026, The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai paid a visit to the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) and met with its CEO, Dr. Vishhwas Deosskar, to discuss opportunities for collaboration in the creative economy sector. The discussion focused on talent development, animation, visual effects (VFX), gaming, digital content creation, and emerging technologies that are shaping the future of creative industries.

The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai had the honour of meeting the Hon. Municipal Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on 2 June 2026 at the BMC Headquarters. Both officials explored opportunities to deepen collaboration between Jakarta and Mumbai — two of Asia’s most dynamic metropolitan cities. Key areas of focus included the creative economy, innovation, sustainable urban development, and stronger people-to-people connections.

It was also highlighted the potential of establishing a Sister City Agreement between Jakarta and Mumbai to create a long-term framework for institutional cooperation and mutual growth.

During the meeting, the Consul General extended a formal invitation to the Hon. Municipal Commissioner to attend the Jakarta–Mumbai Update (JaMU) 2026 as Guest of Honour. The upcoming forum will convene policymakers, business leaders, academics, and creative industry stakeholders from Indonesia and India to unlock new partnership opportunities.
