The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) is a National apex body set up in 1966 by the packaging and allied industries and the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India with the specific objective of improving the packaging standards in the country. The Institute is having its Head Quarters at Mumbai and branches located at Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai. Upcoming centres at Guwahati, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kakinada, are in the process of establishment. The institute has recently completed its Golden Jubilee on14th May 2016. The diversified activities of the Institute encompasses the entire spectrum of packaging which includes research & development, education, training, testing, information, consultancy, exhibitions, designs, publication, library and database services.
