District Commissioner, Baksa, Kimnei Changsan, IAS, attended virtually the ceremony held in Guwahati today, 1 September 2026, where Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma released the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under the JEEVAN PRERANA Scheme, CM-FLIGHT Scheme, and Relief grant for flood-affected households.

The District Commissioner attended the ceremony from the DC Conference Hall, Mushalpur, through video conferencing, along with ADC Jituraj Gogoi and other concerned officials.

Today, i.e. 29.08.2026, an Awareness Programme on Disaster Preparedness, Flood Safety,Rescue and Fire Safety was conducted at Narayanguri Village under Jalah Revenue Circle. The programme was organised by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Baksa in collaboration with NDRF.

The programme was attended by the I/c Field Officer, Jalah Revenue Circle, Sub-Inspector, NDRF 1st Battalion, Pathgaon, Gaon Pradhan, DDRF team members, and local villagers.
The participants actively took part in the awareness activities and interacted with the team on various aspects of disaster preparedness, flood safety and fire safety.

A Familiarization Exercise (FAMEx) was conducted today, 25-08-2026, at Jalah Girls’ High School under Jalah Revenue Circle, organized by DDMA, Baksa, in collaboration with NDRF.

The exercise was aimed at familiarizing students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders with school safety, disaster preparedness, and emergency, response procedures during earthquakes, floods, fire incidents, and other emergency situations.

The programme also focused on enhancing the participants’ capacity to respond effectively during emergencies through awareness sessions and practical demonstrations.

The programme was attended by the Circle Officer, Jalah Revenue Circle Satrajit Neog; I/c Field Officer (DM), Jalah Revenue Circle; Sub-Inspector, NDRF 1st Battalion, Atgaon; Headmaster and teachers of the school; DDRF personnel; students; and parents of Jalah Girls’ High School.

The participants actively participated in the exercise and gained valuable practical knowledge regarding safety measures, preparedness, evacuation procedures, and appropriate response mechanisms during emergencies.
