The Ambedkarian Chronicle
Call for Submissions: December Issue
Theme: Caste on Campus
The Ambedkarian Chronicle invites submissions for our upcoming December issue focused on the theme 'Caste on Campus'.
Caste operates in myriad ways in university campuses – from overt expressions of casteist slurs on walls, bodies, minds to more covert ways in the everyday that contribute to exclusion, denial, segregation, and repression faced by the marginalised castes inside these spaces. A cursory Google search would reveal the alarming state of rising deaths of Dalit-Adivasi students in Indian universities – and these statistics still make up for only a miniscule fraction of the experiences of caste on campus. There are thousands of years of history behind these headlines, and a lot to engage with to make educational institutions equal and just.
We welcome essays, interviews, prose, poetry, short films and artworks that explore, but not limited to:
Experiences of caste on campus
Pedagogical practices
Student movements and election for unity and resistance
Historical perspectives on caste in education
Law and policy perspectives on caste in higher education
Caste and privatisation of higher education
