Maintaining transparency in the working of the Panchayat has been the primary goal of 23- Melli Dara Paiyong Gram Panchayat Unit. As we all know that unless the people are aware and alert, there are very rare chances that any developmental step taken by the government will be utilized to the maximum extent. Thus, primary focus of any Local Self Government should be on making the people aware of th

eir rights and responsibilities.
23-Melli Dara Paiyong Gram Panchayat Unit has taken up several initiatives which would help make the people aware thereby bringing transparency in the system of work. The GPU is known for its numerous initiatives such as Mobile Service, Equalization Policy, Work Permission Card, Single Swindow System, Computerization of VAC and various such initiatives because of which the GPU has been declared as the best GPU of the state of Sikkim and we proudly boast of having numerous awards to our credit which you can read in detail in the awards section. as Recently, the Gram Panchayat has launched a mission - "Solid Waste Free GPU by 2011" and the work for the same is being undertaken on war footing.

23-Mellidara Paiyong GPU conducted a program today to address the basic needs of our children/youths and also the needs of our progressive farmers, choosing human resource development program over infrastructure development as a Gram Panchayat Development Plan(GPDP) 2021-22.
Four (4) appointments were made viz.
1. Community Nursery Manager
(Shri Dinesh Rai and Shri Pradip Thulung Rai)
3. Sports Facilitator/Coach at school.
( Shri Lokeshmanger Lokesh and Shri Himal Bantawa Rai).
Youths being the pillar of tomorrow, responsibilities were bestowed upon them for their personal and community growth. All appointees are from Kerabari ward no. 5.
Witnessed by Shri Nirmal Chettri(Indian Footballer/Founder FC Melli), Smt. Bishnu Maya Rai (VLW-mellidara Agri./Horti. Office),Marketing Assistant and Field Facilitator (agri./horti.), Shri Sudip Sharma(Teacher, Melli Kerabari Junior High School), Honorable Panchayat Members and staffs of VAC a inaugural program was conducted in the premises of VAC, Mellidara.

On learning from social media post, members of Gram Panchayat along with administrative team of Mellidara Paoyong visited the house of Shri Ram Bdr. Chettri.
He was a dedicated employee of RRC(Reaource Recovery Centre)under GP care. We found that he was unwell since 28th june and despite several village level treatments till date he has not recovered,hence the GP members visited the family and donated sum of ₹10,000 from OSR along with personal contribution of a sum of ₹12,000 form the panchayat members.
He will be taken to the hospital tomorrow for further treatment. We pray fro his speedy recovery.

Yesterday on the occasion of Nurse Day and to fight the pandemic, Panchayat members along with staff diatributed needed essentials to Health amd Wellness Centre(PHC), Melli Bazaar. Under the derivatives of the Central and State Govt. rs. 50,000/- was to be provided from the GP fund to fight against Covid-19.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the "Frontline Warriors" and if any assistance is required from the GP, please feel free to approach.
