On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Lovism Youth Wing of Heavenly/Nirvana Path, Sikkim, organised a program at the Girls' Loving Home, Sribadam, West Sikkim, to honour women.
We, the "Art of Happiness" teachers, were privileged to be invited and be part of this auspicious event. The event was graced by Reverend Shradheya Semming Guru (Bharat), who lighted the lamp and together we sang the Lovism anthem. Miss Bidhya Rai, Counsellor at Sribadam Girls' Loving Home, delivered an outstanding welcome speech addressing the guests, and the program was hosted by Mr Pratipal Rai (Youth General Secretary).
The children of Sribadam Girls' Loving Home performed soulful bhajans, a wonderful group dance, and a solo song, which were beautiful and attractive. Miss Trishala, Secretary to "His Holiness Master Godangel," delivered an inspiring message on behalf of women, saying that it's not only International Women's Day but also a day to "Honour Women." She highlighted a recent incident during a holy festival where a lady was mistreated, and instead of being supported, she was misunderstood. Miss Trishala emphasised that jealousy is a major reason for disunity among women and that women are still judged, humiliated, and dominated. She urged everyone to come together and raise their voices against such injustices.
H.N.P State General Secretary Mr Khusendra Chettri spoke about women's achievements, strengths, abilities, and resilience. O.S.D. to M.L.A. Dentam Constituency, Mr Diwas Rawali Sampang, discussed women's roles in politics. Reverend Shradheya Semming Guru Bharat addressed the crowd, saying that women are not weak but are biologically, physically, socially, and emotionally strong compared to men. He cited historical examples of women like Indira Gandhi, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Mother Teresa, and Florence Nightingale, who have made significant contributions. He emphasised that an educated woman can educate her family and that women are special and equal to men. He encouraged the children to focus on their studies and be grateful for the opportunities they have.
In the end, Reverend Semming Guru jew delivered a message from Guruhajur, expressing the desire to see the children of Girls' Loving Home, excel and become like one of them.
