🚨🇮🇳 INDIAN SEAFARERS AGAIN TARGETED AT SEA

⚓ 4 AUGUST 2026 | YEMEN / RED SEA

An Indian-flagged vessel, MSV Faize Noore Oliya, came under attack near Yemeni waters on 4 August 2026.

The vessel was seriously damaged after being struck by a projectile and subsequently sank.

There were 14 people on board, including 13 Indian seafarers. Thankfully, all 14 crew members were rescued and brought to safety.

🙏 We are relieved that all the seafarers were rescued safely.

But this incident once again raises a serious question:

❗ WHO WILL PROTECT OUR SEAFARERS?

Indian seafarers are working across the world's oceans and are essential to international trade. They are not soldiers, they are not participants in any conflict, and they should never become targets of war or political disputes.

🇮🇳 OUR DEMANDS:

🔹 Immediate protection of commercial vessels and seafarers in high-risk waters.

🔹 Stronger emergency response and rescue arrangements for Indian seafarers.

🔹 Ship Owners and Flag States must give the highest priority to crew safety.

🔹 Governments and international maritime organisations must take stronger measures to protect merchant ships operating in conflict zones.

🔹 Seafarers must receive timely security information, risk assessments and appropriate protective measures before entering high-risk areas.

🛑 STOP TARGETING SEAFARERS

🛑 PROTECT COMMERCIAL SHIPPING

🛑 SEAFERERS' SAFETY MUST COME FIRST

Every seafarer deserves to return home safely to their family.

Their lives are more valuable than any cargo.
